Thanks for posting this! Super helpful. Been doing reselling for two years, and cutting out and taping on labels was getting SO tedious. Glad I finally caved and bought one of these. Slightly less wasteful, but SO much quicker. And for anyone else who might see this that has run into the same issue... if you start using it on your Mac, and it's only printing a (enlarged) portion of the label, make sure you go into your "page setup" in the print window, and make sure you've got it set to print on the 4x6 setting. Took a bit of trial and error for me to figure that out myself! Oh, and you don't need to use the expensive Dymo brand labels with this either, even though it says so.
Timing was perfect Lonnie. I just bought a Dymo printer that I haven't installed yet. It was cheaper than buying more toner for my old printer, thanks!
Thank you sooooo much for putting this up on RU-vid! I've had the DYMO LabelWriter 4XL for about 2 yrs but got a new iMac. The new computer said the printer was installed BUT it would NOT work properly. It tried everything. If it weren't for your video, I would be bald. LOL. The DYMO software took about 8 min. to install vs your 2 min. Thanks, again for taking the time to help those of use who have no idea what to do when it comes to computers/software.
Thank you! I’ve had my dymo sitting for about two months because when I tried to use it with my Mac, it said it was not compatible. Can’t wait to try it out
Really appreciated that you took the time to help out here. Simple, but when mac automatically downloads a driver, you often expect it to be the right one. In this case it wasnt, so thanks for this!
Thank you I’m going to try this!!! I just brought the printer downloaded it and have wasted most of my labels trying to get it to print the right size on the label, hopefully it works 😭
Great to know. I currently have a Brother thermal label printer which seems a bit glitchy and Brother do not answer emails for support. I may give this one a try as it's so much cheaper long term rather than buying ink cartridges for my regular printer x
Lonnie sorry to bother you , on average how much is it per lable ? And how many labels can you print before changing the thermal tape? Thanks for your help
The way to go! I was lured into buying a less expensive Zebra 2844 thermal printer for my Mac and the result was a nightmare trying to install CUPS driver!! Total time waster and ended getting the Dymo 4XL and was printing 4"x6" postage labels in minutes.
I have this downloaded for my Mac..... but the labels are coming out with address as well as the receipt. I want on the address. Please help! I’m about to throw this out the window lol
I ended having to come over from another channel. My install was not straight to the point. My printer is not showing up. Somehow it was only downloading the DCDMac which was just Dymo connect and had to click the compatibility chart to to find the actual software. I’m confused. It’s still not showing up. I clicked the launchpad to see if was there. I saw Dymo Connect and Dymo Label. It still couldn’t find it. I plugged in the rest of the cords. It still didn’t work. Now I’m restarting my computer. It’s one year old and I just did the latest install which is Monterey. Restarting worked 🙌. Now I can continue with the video.
go to dymo website and install the driver. maybe try changing the usb port too. don't trust the driver that comes default on the mac, install the dymo one.
