How to install Eco Battery and bypass OBC (mainly OBC options)

Hey guys, this is in addition to my other videos on installing an Eco Battery lithium into a club car precedent. If you have an OBC it’s recommended to bypass it and replace the negative cable. I have recently contacted James on installing my Eco 51.5V 105 AH Battery. On 2 ISSUES, one being Major. 1st minor issues was battery gauge not working. Two videos on RU-vid did not show charger cable connecting to battery 90 degree screw fitting from gauge. There are 2 connectors at battery end connecting to battery attached to harness. One of the connectors, doesn't matter which on needs to go to connector on Charger or battery will give false readings. 2ND Major issue is connecting previous deluxe lighting kit. This was my fault but I didn't have 12 volts connected from inverter to lighting system. I connected 48volts and it blew out the front headlights and rear tail lights. I got a hold of James and he helped me solve the issue. You need the blur OR red wire, one with a 20 amp fuse in it hooked up to inverter with black negative in same harness. It is located in the harness before the "Y" SPLIT going to rear tail lights. I ordered and installed new headlight and tail lights. They work fine except Blinkers don't work. We are working on this issue, probably flasher relay got blown out. James is an exemplary person and is HIGHLY APPRECIATED for helping me with my problems.

In the video you removed the black wire when you removed the OBC, however that wire was attacehd to a black wire in the harness. Should this remaining black wire in the harness be attached to the neg (12-) on the 12C Converter? Great video and thanks for all your help!

What is the blue wire that turns to red at 3:18 on the video? And how do you hook it up to the lithium battery? Is it a fuse?

that is a LED light kit. A lot of the Chinese light kits will change colors so that will hook into your 13.5 V out on your voltage reducer so the headlights only work when the key switch is cut on. Any other questions feel free to give me a shout!

What is the benefit of bypassing the OBC? Can you leave it?

The OBC is designed to control your OEM battery charger, since you don’t need it to control any battery charger , it is kind of useless. A lot of folks like to bypass it just to eliminate anything in the future that may disrupt the factory controler. According to Eco Battery, if it works leave it alone, if it creates a problem with your controller then bypass it
