Very helpful. Had trouble orienting the linkage to the lock bolt hole because I couldn't get the top drawer out. Had to view the video several times but finally got it in. Thanks
What if the metal black file cabinet doesn't have a knock out in the top right or left corner? Answer a hole has to be drilled through the metal file cabinet to install a lock, determining on the position of which drawer you want to lock. Which there are also other RU-vid tutorials on how to do just that. My black file cabinet like this doesn't have a knock out.
Might be a no brainer to you, but I have a file cabinet with NO lock, but DOES have the right shape of lock-hole "etched" into the metal at that upper right corner. Is there an ideal/simple way to knock it out-to get a clean hole without jagged edges? (Then I'd install a new lock from kit.) Like what tools would you use, etc. Thanks!
Which lock and where can I purchase the replacement lock bought 1”,13/16” and 9/16” locks from Home Depot none fits that’s my dilemma. Otherwise the video is great
I have a file cabinet lock that I'm replacing however this one piece that I have doesn't have the pinhole. Did I buy the wrong lock there's only two to choose from frustrated
Just One of the draws won't Stay locked in the vertical cabinet. It's a oval shaped lock =. I tried taking out the draw and reinserting that one drawer (2nd from the top) won't catch ]. What to do ?
@FRJ1982 hey just saw this. Thanks. I'll look in there and see if l can find it. I'll check each draw level to see if it has a connection with the rest.
