I had to go through several videos on the same truck before finding your's. This video was the only one that clearly showed where the plug was. Thank you for doing this. Great job!
Awesome that I searched how to install these in my 08 and one of your 5 year old videos pops up. Was great help. Can’t wait till ya post another new one!!!
By and far the best video. I bought my upfitter switch kit a couple years ago and the Ford instructions are horrible. The previously done videos were just confusing. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I used it to help me do this the other day on my 2011 F350XL. Everything went really smooth and I had zero issues pulling the plug thru the space in the dash.
Good content, despite what the critics say. They're watching to find out how it's done from someone who has already done the homework. That's why I watched too. Now I know exactly how to do it.
finding the 8 ish pin connector above the steering linkage was really hard, and you only have two seconds of video showing it. eventually I did find it, and had to REMOVE the cap. then it worked. thanks for the video
KPDanger, thanks for the video, i just did this with new stuff from Ford. 08250CCLB4x4. You were spot on and I used your info exactly except where the ground goes. Switches and relay box, no scews was $280 from Ford. Awesome job. Thanks. RT.
OMG i finally found mine, the Upfitter switches were already attached to the relay/fuse box found left side underneath the steering wheel comparment area. Had to pull the cover off and there were the 4 wires coming out of a wire harness bundle.
Also they grey plug leads to the wiring harness in the engine bay. The wires on the box in the dash is for interior accessories and the wires in the engine bay is obviously for exterior. But good direction on how to install.
I’ve been wondering how to do shit with those switches ever since I bought my truck super helpful now I know what that rat nest of wires under my steering wheel are for
Thanks for the vid. is that bundle of wires with the tag at the 7:00 mark, just wires that are passed through the firewall? I was gonna run new ones to the lights but hell if there's stuff already in place...
My 2005 F350 Diesel Dually FX4 the Aux Switch has a black wire harness that goes up and into the firewall, I do not have a label for the switches and wire colors, and the wires underneath the hood are not hooked up and they are red-white-blue-black...hmmmmm
How does the relay pack actually mount? I have a 2015 f350 and there are 2 different relay packs already where you went through so you could mount yours. Side of dash below the side window vent.
I am trying to figure out if there is a way to install up fitter switches to my 2012 F150. Due to some volunteer activities I am involved in I have equipped my truck with lights and have begun to wonder if there is a way to put in a switch where I can raise the RPM of the truck while it is not in motion so as to ensure my battery stays charged. I am also planning to install a second battery dedicated to my two radio and lights but I just want to make sure that I can keep a proper charge when I am having to use my lights. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Speaking of headlights; my 99 has only two fuses for the headlights, one for low beams and one for high beams. My 07 work truck has FOUR!! one for low beams DS, one for high beam DS, one for low beam PS, and one for high beam PS.
They enable you to add additional items you wish to mount on your truck. Example, if you wanted to add a light bar, you could use one of the upfitter switches to power the light bar. Keeping in mind that you must determine the amps needed for the lightbar and matching that with the correct upfitter switch.
Have the switches and found the plug buried up above the pedal. But seem to be missing the harness that goes to the switches themself. Anyone have details for that?
Awesome video. Not 100% accurate though, that grey plug doesn't exist on my 99 super duty. I also don't have a factory hole in the dash to install the switches. While it's true the super duty line has seen no major changes since the 20th century there ARE numerous minute changes throughout the years which can culminate to a VAST difference between a 99-01 and say a 2013 model. Another difference I have found is the headlight harness, I can physically bolt on 08 and later headlights but my factory harness must be modified and/or adapted to work with them.
