Very professional you make look so simple i fill my challenger gas tank came out of the gym and was leaking i drove it a mile and is not leaking anymore 🤷♂️
On a push button start if you push the button twice without mashing the break it engages the fuel pump pushing the button twice without holding the break is like turning the key to the on position if you hit it a third time it goes back off
for any of you interested - 2014 Dodge Charger SRT ; was just quoted $800 for diagnostics & replacement of main fuel pump at local Dodge Dealership- car has about 50k miles and it was still the original pump. This is a common issue with the Dodge Charger, Challengers & 300's from 2006-2014
They improved the pumps from mid - 2014 on up. All part numbers do, in fact, supercede to the new parts. The 392, Hellcat, and Pursuit models use a more powerful pump than the other models, and costs quite a bit more to replace. A reasonable option might be finding low-mileage replacements from the boneyard.
To put the "diagnosis" simple, the right pump's main purpose is to provide the engine with fuel while the car is on, the left pump's main, but not only purpose is to provide fuel when the car is turning on, or idle.
The main fuel pump module is located on the left/drivers side of the vehicle. The auxiliary fuel pump module is located the right/passenger side of the vehicle. The fuel supply line to the engine is on the auxiliary fuel pump module and supplies fuel to the engine. The electrical connector is on the main fuel pump module and controls both modules. Only the auxiliary pump module supplies fuel to the engine.
Hi, great video! Could you please provide info about the other module on the right side? You mentioned that both of them are important. Also another video shows using silicone paste on the gasket; does this make sense to you? Obviously want to use an appropriate amount (not glob it everywhere).
I did everything right. Now it's like the car is draining in power. It won't start at all. It's saying key fob not detected, the interior lights are dim, the horn is dim, no headlight's. Now I have no power in the car. Is it a relay? Or battery?
I did all that and now when I fuel up. Fuel leaks out from top of pump somewhere and into the pump compartment. Already replaced o rings and locking ring 2xs
it would have been handy to tell somebody how to take off the high pressure hose because now I snap my main fuel pump connector and that wasn't the module I was trying to fix now I have to replace both of them thanks
yeah...looks so easy in the video, but ALL the detail is completely left out. Might as well have said "replace the pump, all fixed". You will never have a successful repair from this video.
Well you guys are telling me you only watch "1 video" and go off that? Next time, watch multiple videos and don't blame anyone else but your "dumass selves" idiots
Airtex I have a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT and I have to get a new fuel pump which is covered by Dodge. I was told to run my fuel tank down so as not to make a mess in the rear of my car. Is this a similar installation as your video? Could this be done in a day if the dealer has the part? Thank you.
i have a '11 dodge charger R/T Hemi, and recently i noticed a tapping noise directly in front of the driver side dash that spontaneously starts during my drive and even when the car is off. Almost around the same time cylinder failure started reducing the power i get when i press the gas. I'm starting to figure the two are related. Do you thing that replacing the fuel pump would solve my problem..Need help!
I had the same problem, I am sorry this may be too late to help you. The problem you are describing is the air conditioning recirculation control valve. you can access it behind your glove box.
Yes it’s the blend door actuator by the fan underneath the glove box. I replaced mine. However, one suggestion when you to to repair, do not buy an aftermarket actuator. It will go out in a few months and the work is tedious to fix. Buy the Mopar brand. You can get it cheaper online through Amazon.
I've been having a problem with my fuel pump. When i was driving it and pulled up to a red light, then it turned green and my car shaked a little and turn off and I couldn't start it and the gears were locked. Had a mechanic check it and he changed the fuel pump for me, and my car was driving good again. A week later the check engine light came on, I had the same problem and i purchased and tried to change the fuel pump twice and drained the car from old gas, What do you think the problem could be everyone says the fuel pump but i put 2 different ones on and it wont start.
yea i agree, my secondary pump on the passenger side strangely has a crack on the top or what looks like a cover (the white part you see as soon as you remove the black plastic cover under the seat) causing fuel to pool in recessed areas. can the white top part be replaced or would i have to buy a whole new secondary pump? my reeks of gas from 5 ft away if there is more than 3/4 tank. def seems like a manufacturer defect
@@UptownWatta this is a European design as well and the suspension mercedes has this problem and sets an evap code you can get the cover seperarely and replace it don't try to glue it it doesn't last long I know
i have a 2005 dodge magnum and i suspec the fuel pump has gone out because i turn the key and do not hear the pump cut on. i dont know which pump has gone out. so im here asking how do i test the fuel pumps to see which is bad? rather a simple way or down to checking things with a multimeter. can you please help with diagrams, any schematics links or even what the resistance should be in the pumps for a working order? thank you
Dave Negrete yes. I figured it out. You have to take the pump back and get the other brand , I’m away from my house right now so I can’t tell you what brand it was that I brought. But pretty much what the problem is , the pump Floats are made differently. If you sit compare the pump you have now to the old you would see that the old float goes down about 1in further than the one you have now. I took it back to advanced and got the one that’s under the premium sections which was about $10 more. Let me know if that works for you.
Yeah I figured it out myself, when I placed the fuel pump back in, the float level sensor accidentally got stuck over the plastic bracket on the fuel pump itself. So I took it out and I noticed it and all I did was take the float off and basically got it unstuck and this Time I carefully placed the fuel pump back in and now the gauge has accurate reading
dear there hope you answer. me shortly .. i have got dodge charger fuel issues then i cleaned booth pumps but after the fuel level meassurer began to start from the middle never get to the left empty side . nomatter how empty the tank is the sensor remains on half plz let me know where the problem is
+Airtex/ASC Performance Pumps thank you sir but just for more sure i wish to know how those sensors look like & how they supposed be set in right way .
Thanks for the video it helped but after about a week since the pump replacement I got a p0463 engine code which is the fuel level sensor. Did I do something wrong ?
Hey, how are you? nice video,I have a Dodge charger 2006 SE V6 3.5L, and Im having troubles with my car, it has a elevated consume of fuel, and when its on sometimes the car feels like he got out of air, and I think that I have to change the fuel filter, I already change my spark plugs, but I really cant find where the filter is, and I didnt find it too on internet, could you please tell me if you know where is it, or what you think it is, Plz Thank you!!
+Airtex Pumps ufff thanks a lot, another question is necesary to change the pump? I mean, must of these cars has a parameter to change it? líke oil and other filters.
+Airtex Pumps I have an 07 chrysler 300c. .my car all of a sudden started idling rough ..i jus changed plugs And pcv valve. .i also added some fuel injection cleaner and then it started the rough idle ..do u think it's possible that it cleaned my system and now that stuff is in the filter causing it to idle rough?
Why does my 2006 charger stall when I fill up the gas tank it takes about four minutes for it to stall then I started up and it runs fine until I filled up with gas again
Airtex/ASC Performance Pumps they've been working on it they replaced the gas tank I'm going to fill it up with gas and leave the gas cap off for five or 10 minutes and see if it's a pressure problem with the Charco canister
@@TheWillOfFate2014 Thanks for getting back to me. The Primary Pump failed 3 months ago. I asked the shop to save it for me. (The Pump AND the shifter failed at the same time so I went to get help) the primary pump has the smallest filter. and while the the motor still ran it seemed the pump failed to give enough pressure. A rip down of the entire assemble showed no mechanical failure. I can only guess that the small filter got clogged. Very expensive failure point.
If it’s cheap eBay and Amazon pumps, it won’t work, both pumps make a sound when they turn on. If they don’t make a sound, return it or buy auto store brand with warranty.... I learned the hard way if anyone else needs that info lol
