I've threatened to do my own cam for a year, the day I purchased my Road Glide. But it was only a threat. A lift from my wife and this video...not a threat anymore. Hot video. The rod cover tip, showing the pump gears, and guide screws correction gives you much credibility. Phat! Subscribed 2FD brother ET1(SS/SW/MTS) US Navy, Ret.
Great video!!! I’m gonna install a stage 2 kit on my own now. One question, when adjusting the pushrods you make 4 fully turns after the slight contact? Others say to make only 2.5 turns sofort a correct adjustment??
If you are using the S&S pushrods I would set them at 4 turns from zero lash(initial contact). But different brand pushrods use different adjustments. We just released a video explaining why there are different adjustments and what your trying to accomplish. Check it out and let us know if you have any other questions.
Dilemma about ordering a chain driven cam or a gear driven cam. I wont know what my runout is untill i tear it down. Or is there a way to check my runout without fully tearing my cam chest down?
Also i dont have a runout gauge my 2017 roadglide ultra has 20k miles you think ill have an issue with a chain drive sns cam kit ? I already ordered it but some say runout with chain isnt a big deal
@@TuckerSpeed477 no engine codes or anything just some weird intake noise but other than that we are good i watched this video so much and never subscribed but i am now thank you again
Very nice and detailed video on how to install a cam. I thinking the only thing that wasn’t mentioned is to put the bike in 6 gear to rotate the motor. Or did I miss something ? Can’t wait to install mine
Great Video, Im contemplating tackling this project on my own. What Cam Kit do You recommend. 18 RG Special 107? Also what exhaust is on that bike in the video? Sounds great!
We really like the Woods 22XE or the Star 30/30 cam. Shoot us an email and we can help you put together a package. This bike has an HPI shorty exhaust.
There are a ton of different cams out there and they all perform differently. On this bike, we installed this cam because it's the one the customer wanted, but we have seen really good results with a lot of the Woods cams. The S&S cams are a great option too though.
My 2023 RKS had a full roller bearing as well. I just did some upgrades and was surprised to not see the typical caged bearing. I replaced mine just to be safe.
I must tell you I haven’t seen a video this thorough I mean thorough so what can you suggest for a 2014 Triglide Trike I already have the stage one looking forward to getting a stage two what would you suggest for me then I can give you guys a call thank you
I have acquired all parts needed for stage 2. CR 483 cam, SS 55 mm intake 5.5 injectors D&D Fat Cat 2-1. Using your video I will be installing this Saturday. Thanks again Tony for the detailed video!!!
Question if i may i followed all steps. Bike is working good but i keep getting CHECK ENGINE code PO330 and i cant seem to remove it. Once cleared it comes back. Bike works fine just code keeps coming back. Any guidance would be appreciated
I need to do a ride in for some parts install….19 Road Glide..already have the Screaming Eagle orange oil pump plate all that ,it has an SE “torque” cam..thinking a Red shift 468 with bearing, lifters and gaskets. replace the plastic intake manifold, tune. I have an SE tune on it now. Currently have Khromewerks mufflers on “hidaway” header..maybe make it a true dual or a 2/1. Tune. I have a TMax tuner not on bike. Do you work with those? Recommend even?
Can you tell me which way the lifters drop in pertaining to the small oil hole that is in the side of the lifter. Do they drop in with the oil hole on each lifter facing each other? Hope this makes sense. I have new s&s lifters that I will be putting in. Didn't pay attention to how the stock ones came out.
There’s some differences in opinion on that but the oil hits the lifters from all the way around and we’ve never found that it really matters what way they are facing.
It's videos like this that make me want to get a cam. Dammit! 😂 By chance do you trade teenagers for motorcycle parts?!? 😂 Great video! Keep em coming!
