As a 12 year old vacuum collector yes u read this right my grandma had a vacuumaid central vacuum system and we just a few weeks ago put in a huskey storm and we love it it is AWESOME
Good job. one think i'd like to point out is you applied the glue inside the fitting - The adhesive will be pushed up in a mass inside when the pipe is introduced. Debris may accumulate on the obstructions an eventually block the pipe.
He didn't use a "glue".. That is a PVC cement which is a "solvent weld" connection. Any residual cement would dry out and flake away (on the inside of the pipe due to abrasion).
hello diy and save. i jus purchased this unit. ive watched all your videos. awesome help on problem solving. i had a question regarding the exhaust port. have you run the unit withiout needing to pipe the exhaust outside. has there been a build up of dirt/dust on the walls near the unit without the muffler or exhaust piping.
Hello! Wondering whether to go with Vacuflo VR 700X (True Cyclonic) + Chameleon hiding system or Husky Evolution with the replacement bags + HaH hiding system. How is your Husky Storm working today and how often do you change the bags and filters? I noticed the bucket is pretty big. However, inside the bucket is the filter that also takes some space, so the space available for the replacement bag is lower. Cheers!
@@DIYandSAVE My current vacuum cleaner died on me. Thinking of purchasing this model. Your comment is 2 years old, so just wondering if you are still happy with it today?
for the low voltage wires. I have an inlet for each floor, basement, F1, and F2. Do I just combine the three wires for into one vacuum plug, and combine the other 3 wires to the other wire plug on the vacuum?
I have a enclosed sun porch I share with my neighbor which is where I would be installing this unit. It seems very quite which is a must! I was wondering would you recommend this machine?
I would like to be able to use this as a portable vacuum. Just can't have installed right now. How to I do that? I'm thinking connect 2" schedule 20 pvc to unit, attach inlet. Run low voltage wiring from inlet?? to unit. plug in unit. Plug in hose and it should turn on? Thanks for any help.
Yes, I think you have a good plan for using this in a temporary setup. I'm assuming you will place it upright when using it. You could create a container dolly, with castors and a frame with 2x4s to mount the canister upright. The the whole thing can be rolled away when not in use.
So I just installed mine. And when I turn it on the exhaust out of the vac unit is pretty warm, almost hot. So I opened another wall plate and I could hear the vac spool up faster and the exhaust air is much cooler. I’m not sure if the hose is restricting air flow. Have you noticed this?
Response from Costco: Buyer · 33 · 3 years ago Thank you for your review. The Husky Storm was designed to be worry-free, durable, and user friendly. All vacuum motors have parts that will wear out with normal use and will need to be replaced after a certain amount of run-time. The Husky Storm is equipped with an electronic circuit board that will stop the power unit after 500 hours of usage (approx. 10 years) to prevent costly repairs. The visible LED will indicate hours in advance that maintenance is coming and then stop at 500 hours. The vacuum can be restarted with a simple reset procedure using the one button on the side of the machine. There is no secret code supplied by the manufacturer. We hope you find this information useful while choosing your next central vacuum system!
