Amazing video. So basically I can just buy any laminate flooring and install it using the herringbone pattern, right? I’m moving into my first apartment soon. I’m so excited and this video was everything I needed ❤
Hi, this is click vinyl flooring. You can only install click planks that were specifically made to be installed in herringbone format because they have 2 types of planks (A and B type). This will be similar with laminate. With gluedown vinyl planks you can buy regular planks and install them in herringbone format.
Which underlay is used in the video? Specs say not use underlay with invictus click cork.. Is it possible then to add that extra acoustic insulation layer then? I'm worried this lvt will cause me trouble as I live in a 2nd floor flat
This is the video (with the Invictus Firmo underlay) we made before we added the cork underlay attached to the click planks, so no need to add another underlay. Putting an extra underlay underneath these planks with a cork backing, would make it a too thick of a ‘package’ and this would cause problems to your click system.
Hi, can this be used with wet underfloor heating? Also, if a kitchen can’t be stood on it does that mean it would be necessary to cut round a washing machine?
It can be used with warm water underfloor heating. Cutting around a single washing machine would not be absolutely necessary. It’s the whole of kitchen cabinets & kitchen island with dishwasher etc. that is too heavy. If you have a stand-alone washing machine, this will be ok, as long as you leave the recommended expansion at the walls and door openings.
If you want, you can also start from the wall, but it takes another technique, which we don’t show in the video. In this case, they made the first ‘arrow’, then cut off the side pieces to have a straight line next to the wall and put spacers against the wall.
