To avoid a lot of this, what I did was when Kadee first came out with the 118 shelf coupler it was built on the kadee 5 shank so I had a bunch of them and just swapped the couplers the original 118 couplers fit perfectly. no need to trim anything 🙂

So I have a question regarding the coupler height gauge itself. When you put it all together, did you use one of the red washers in the gauge? I put mine together without one and the coupler sags slightly.
