Thanks for the video. I have a couple issues, 1. Cutting the the top piece with the jig saw without protecting the finish with tape you definately marred the surface as shown in the video. 2. The hardest things to do like how to hang the inside door, is not shown in the video. In fact many of the difficult tasks are either not explained or not shown. Even the outside door with the little J hooks has to be installed in a specific part on the upper track where there are cutouts. Anyone planning to do this job should know this is not one for a novice. You are best to have a second pair of hands as well as sticky gloves as the doors are very heavy.
I just hung 3 at a house in 4 hours....caulked and all cleaned up... it's different when you do it everyday... these are garbage though definitely just call a glass and have them order either a serenity or a crescent series...
What's the cons of the Levity? I'm purchasing today but before I do, would like to know the downside. I will be installing on a kohler bellwether tub which is cast iron
I think he installed the door handles on the wrong side. The interior door should be closest to the shower head so the door handle should be installed on the right side of the door.
One of our two year old Kohler Levity glass doors just exploded while we were laying in bed to go to sleep. No explanation for it. Glass everywhere. Glad none of us were in it. Guess we will see what Kohler says in the morning. 😒
It's a how-to video; No narration, annoying whistling throughout and FF>> over procedures. Thanks for taking the time to do this but this could have been a lot more helpful
A very sloppy tile job right there. And I just finished installing a kohler levity shower door and they are missing a lot of details for exemple: the jamb cover does not fit all way in to the tile because of the top and down bumpers. And also the boots, is rubbers flimsy thing.
I'm installing this now... just read that the tub wall needs to be 3 inches wide to install the bottom door "guide". Mine shower tub is only 2.5 inches wide. Any suggestions? Wouls these doors work with a smaller door guide? Thx
@haydenfrench8493 hey! I did do it with the door guide track provided.. its held up well. However, the door "track" kind overhangs the lip of the tub. It hasn't been a problem for me, but it doesn't look quite right. No one will notice other than you!
Am I the only one observing that these door are hang incorrectly... base on the overlap n the direction of shower would you get water from shower spray coming out from btwn?
Our contractor can't figure out how the bottom of the doors should run in the lower guide. This video doesn't show the guide clearly. Can someone post a picture of the lower center guide w/ the 2 doors in place please. Thank you
Have the same issue after bumping into one at a friends house. You basically need to but a new centerpiece, remove the lower strip, place the inside door in the centerpiece then hang the door, fix the centerpiece in place using acrylic transparent caulk, hang outside door. Best thing is to dissemble it and follow the instructions to install the door again. There is no easy way to hang the inside door on the lower centerpiece without doing so.
I just bought one of these doors from Lowes and instead of verbalizing your installation, you have a bunch of crappy background "noise". One thumb down.
This is one of the poorest installation instruction videos I have ever seen. The video is choppy, out of focus, and incomplete. Instead of having awful music, some explanation of the steps by the installer would have been useful. If multiple languages are required, then that feature could easily be added.
It doesn't show since the very begining how to cut and put the seal, instead that stupid music got in my nerves!!!! . Didn't helped at all! Thanks for nothing!!
