Might be some issue with the switch, a very small amount of current is passing through the switch while in 'off' position, inspect the switch's continuity with the help of a multimeter, there should be no continuity in 'off' position.

If your bike is in warranty then we would not recommend installing fog lights because this will void your warranty. Yes the connection is directly from battery but the battery will discharge only if you turn on your foglight without starting your bike. After ignition alternator generates power which then get rectified via regulator rectifier and then charges your battery and also provides power to other accessories. We have installed fog lights(18*2=36watt) on our Yamaha ss125(5amp battery) and hero super (2.5 amp battery) splendor and till date we haven't faced any electrical problems. If an extra 80 watts of load is beyond your motorcycle's charging system's capacity then you would eventually get to know it, you battery would not charge properly, you will face starting issues, horn wouldn't sound loud etc. So please wait until your warranty period is over and then proceed.

The switch is for turning on/off the relay.

The fog lights are powered from the battery. A simple switch circuit can be turned on by anyone at anytime. I wanted to run the fog lights from ignition, so that it can only be turned while the key is in ignition position. But in that case the full load of the fog lights will be on the ignition wire, which can damage the wiring harness in long run. Relay takes a nominal amount of current from ignition when the switch is turned on and allows the battery power to flow to the fog lights. The positive wire which is going from the battery positive to relay is for turning on the fog lights when the relay is powered on by the ignition switch.

yes you can, but then you need to turn on your fog lights whenever you want to use charger or monitor voltage reading.

If you put both of them on the same relay then you need to turn on the lights everytime you want to charge your mobile. Or else you can directly hook up the charger with ignition, but it is not recommended if you are drawing more than 1 amp current. If you have space left, you can always add a separate relay for the charging circuit.

Thanks dude for your reply..I came up with a solution I connected connector pin for both ...so when I don't need my fog light I just need to disconnect the connection which I placed below pillion seat...plug and play kind of switch....

Just make sure to insulate the live connector properly and don't let the connector touch bare metal after disconnecting which will result in short circuit.

I wanted to turn on fog lights only when my motorcycle is in ignition position to avoid misuse of fog light by anyone. If I connected the switch directly to battery then anyone could turn on the light at any time and that could discharge the battery. Relay connection are clearly shown in the diagram at 05:14 please refer to that diagram. Do not alter the relay pin orientation at the time of connection.

Bike mein kuch bhi problem hua toh company warranty dene mein problem karegi, phir bhi lagana hain toh ekbaar showroom se puch lena warranty ke bare mein.

wires agar thik se insulate na ho toh short circuit hone ka khatra rehta hain, isiliye fuse diya hua hain wiring mein lekin phir bhi risk toh rehta hi hain.

A relay is used so your not putting high amperage through a switch. Think about about a car stereo or high wattage LED bar. Lets say you're going to have a 30 amp draw, you put in a 30 amp fuse, but how many 30 switches can handle 30 amps... the switch would melt before the fuse. A relay is a switch the uses a very low voltage signal to activate. So the switch you press does turn on the lights,.. its turns the switch on in the relay which in turn turns on the lights.

Oh just thought of this use,.. lets say you don't have one really big draw like a car amp, but lets say you have a couple of smaller draws that collectively are a lot. So for example is you wanted to have one switch to turn of a couple of 4 small fog for a close spread of light and a couple of 25 degree spot lights for far. If you put any one of these lights on one switch, you (might) be fine, but you'd need 6 switches, which would be a real pain to use. Or you use one regular low voltage switch that turn on the relay (switch) that handles all of them at once.

Fuse maine 7amp ka lagaya tha, aur agar relay dikhne me same hua toh use aap laga sakte ho.

That will work also. We didn't use that method because of aesthetic purposes.

Yes it has to be of 12 volt but amperage depends on the load, in our case total load was around 36 watt and a 10amp relay would also work but our local shops had 30 amp relay only. As long as that's a 4pin normally open relay it will work, if you are confused then just ask shopkeeper for 4 pin horn relay.

In our installation we have used 7 amp fuse.

+Naren Rajendran without relay full load of fog light will be on ignition wire and that can overheat the ignition wire in long run.

Without relay the switch won't last long , it's better to use a relay.

Fuse is only a safety device for ur lamp just in case it will over load

Fuse is for protecting the circuit from short circuits & overload. Relay is for bypassing the load from ignition wire to a separate circuit. When turned on, Relay takes a nominal amount of current from ignition wire as a token signal and turns on the light by talking power directly from battery through separate wire. As the load of the accessory doesn't pass through ignition wire it remains safe from overloading and overheating risks.

The question is not clear, couldn't understand your problem, keep relay's orientation exactly as shown in the video or else it would not work. Relay ke sath connection hota toh ignition wire overheat hoke jalne ka khatra nahi rehta, but kyuki apne fog lights already install kar liya hain toh lights ka use one stretch me jyada der mat kijiyega jisse ki wire overheat na ho paye.

Ignition ke sath lagaya toh bike on karne pe hi charger on hoga aur direct battery se lagaya toh bike off rehne pe bhi charger on rahega. Mobile charger bohot kam current draw karta hain is liye usme relay lagana zarori nahi hain.

Main process toh same hi rahega, lekin battery se positive aur negative wire ke liye 2.5 mm ka wire use kijiye. Fuse 15-20 amp ka lagega. Baki wires sab same hi rahega(1 to 1.5mm). Connection karna thora mushkil hoga, kahi kahi pe aapko 6 to 7 wires eksath join karna padega. Battery ke upar load jyada hone ke wajah se battery mein bhi problem aa sakta hain.

I think the probkem is happening due to loose connection, tighten every connection point especially battery and ignition point.

Are you going to install projector headlight or projector fog lamps??

You don't have to use 2 different relay for 2 different types of fog lamp as long as the total amp is not exceeding the rated amp of relay.

No, as of now i don't know any auto parts shop that i can refer to you. I bought the fog lights from amazon, and all other things from local auto shop here in kharagpur.

10 amp se kam nahi hona chahiye, zyada hua toh problem nahi hain.

3 wire led ke barey mein toh pata nahin hain sorry.
