Tips if you're having troubles: Don't run the installation on anything more than a single core for the CPU On the last line of code for the command prompt, change that 1 to a 0. so it reads like this VBoxManage setextradata "MACOS" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 0 After install, take off the ISO in settings>storage and uncheck the ISO. That way it won't loop back to installation. Make sure virtualization is enabled in your BIOS.

You can copy all of the commands at once and it will run all of them at once in order so that you don't have to do it individually

**ATTENTION** CPU CORES TO 1 ************** CPU CORES TO 1!!!! Spent 6 hours cumulatively trying to get this shit to work. Low and behold - it was the CPU CORES TO 1 that made it work.

I finally got it to install after being stuck on the '29 - 27 minutes remaining' loop: I did what some others said in the comments and set my CPU cores to 1 and RAM to 8GB (not sure if the RAM matters but it worked at 8. The 1 CPU core 100% matters though). If you're reading this, you should try to use more RAM and let us know if that also works with the 1 CPU core because it's most likely just the CPU core.

On the final line of the console command code, VBoxManage setextradata "MACOS" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 1. Change that last "1" to a "0" and it should work. Or at least, it worked for me.

It installs for about 30 mins, so probably at or near the end and then gets into a cyclic crash. I have tried the ISO attached here and Ventura and Sonoma downloaded directly from Apple. All three get to the same place and then start crashing. My CPU is i9-13900T I have given the VM 8MB RAM and set it to 1 CPU as recommended here. I tried to link to a screenshot of the crash but that doesn't seem to be possible.

I have had some of my own hassles, like the VM boot loops after kernel panics. Though this may be because I used some hard disks from previous VM tutorials. Oh wait it is still bootlooping… maybe I should just patch VMware? Yeah I’ll take my chances there

Yep, can confirm. Couldn't get it working before I did a complete restart. It could be enough to just restart the VirtualBox service (VBoxSDS), but it only occured to me now, so no way to test it.

I restarted after a few failed attempts (and after the cmd commands), reduced the number of CPUS to 1, and after 30 minutes and the progress bar around 90%, it restarted again....:((. Don't know what else can be done here....

This might be because macOS is bootlooping due to kernel panic’s (it does it automatically after like 8 panic’s) either that or you haven’t got your boot settings configured to boot hard disks first.

I fixed it by typing VBoxManage.exe setextradata “VM name” “VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC” 0 on the cmd (before that, type cd "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\")

Hey guys try this method it works too. On the page it says virtual machine Name and operating system. To show the page on the main virtualbox menu click on new and on the ISO image you click on it and add the MacOS iso file thing you downloaded and choose that file and it will have the name and type on it already then just click next and your all set. Hope this method works for you guys.

your BIOS has the virtualization disable, you need to shut down your pc, access the BIOS menu, in configuration somewhere there is a option to enable virtualization, then save and turn your pc on again.

VmWare works so much better. Easier to install and is faster to run. I would suggest using Monterey or Ventura, then updating to Sonoma in the regular way. Less problems.

I've been watching so many of these tutorials(because i can't get it to work :/ ) and i'm not sure why no one knows this but... You can literally just paste all the cmd lines in in one go, you don't need to copy them one by one lol And no, that's not the reason i cant get it to work, i tried copying them one by one too

@@teema.everythingtech Well, i copied them directly, and made sure to replace the name. There's no error messages in CMD too. It gets to the MacOS install screen, even gets to the install and then just restarts back to the install page after it finishes. I've tried unmounting the disk, and it just says "your mac disk is not inserted"
