How does playing with mods installed affect trying to play on vanilla servers? Are there some mods that are clientside only and won't affect connecting? I presume having something like 'more carry weight' installed will cause a problem joining a vanilla server. But maybe map unlock wouldn't...?

i installed the ue4ss 3.0.0 and each time i try load the game it crashes, it's the only thing i have installed regarding mods as it was crashing before so i removed everything did a clean install to add mods one by one to see if i could find the problem.

So I have the base range but I have been having issues and was wondering if you could help me out on that. Please I have sent ya a message before and hope to hear back from ya and all. Or at least hear from someone who might be able to help me as I just have some genuine questions.Cause the range is extended but pals and the resources in containers won't seem to register when walking outside the original circle.

so my game will no longer load anymore? i can get to the main menu but thats about it before it crashes. the mods i have installed are: UE4SS, buyallballs, MapUnlocker, ore crusher, unreleased pals, and enhanced visuals.

So I tried to install some mods and I got something that read: "Failed to open descriptor file ../../../Pal/Paluproject" can you help me out please. Edit: So I did a fresh reinstall and put everything in the right location this time. But I went ahead and downloaded some mods and my game kept crashing the moment I tried to load in but If I took them out then the game would let me in a world no problem. Any idea why this could be happening?

You don't need to extract files, at least not with WinRAR. I'm not certain about other programs, but with WinRAR, click the downloads icon in your browser and select 'open file'. If it asks you to choose a program, select WinRAR. You can set it as the default if you wish, and you'll have the files you need. Sometimes it depends on the mod author when you open the file it will say mod/mods just open it and move the pak file or folder named after the mod where it needs to go.

This tutorial is great, but I do have a question regarding mods that don't need files extracted. There are some that when downloaded from nexusmods get put straight into the ~mods folder but they don't do anything when I boot up the game, is there something else I need to do?

Every mod you download needs to get dragged into the correct folder/section for it to work

Yeah i understand that much, but just to be more clear I am trying to use the play as Zoe mod, i look at the instructions and it looks simple enough, it makes it seem like all i have to do is download and put it in the folder. When i go to my downloads its just the one file, nothing needs unzipped or anything. I drag it to the ~mods folder and thats it but npthing happens, there has to be a step not explained on the tutorial for the mod.

I can’t get the bigger base radius mod to work. I’ve managed to get the oak analyser and the iv moss to work but struggling with this the base radius one.

You have to change the base radius yourself in the lua files

what if i installed the map unlocker mod to unlock the map and then i remove it (for whatever reason) , will the ingame map still be fully unlocked or will it revert back to the state it was pre-mod installation?

It works, but my luck for mods seems to be at it's finest, after trying to install pal radar minimap the frames plummeted to nothing. At least new soundtrack and lunaris skin works fine.

Most mods don't work on dedicated servers. Instead most work on single player only.

@@nickbxmboo9161 check if you have any files from an older version of UE4SS still in your win64 folder, specifically XINPUT1_3 or XINPUT1_4 and delete that if its in there. fixed it for me

I got the problem that after i installed the UE4SS that whenever there is a xinput1_3.dll in my game folder the game crashes 1 sec after it boots up. It doesnt matter which mod i choose or how many as soon as i install any mod i cant run the game. Can you help me? Ps. I already changed the UE4SS- settings to false.

You would have to delete the xinput file when you download the UE4SS 3.0 file

got so fucking confused due to never using winrar, thats to say that the game is now unplayable for me. some of the stuff you told me to put in like the ~mods and Mods folder were already there and the extraction path was to a C: folder and not a D: folder where i installed it. gonna deal with this in the morning 😮‍💨

steam, sorry if i sounded upset i was just ready to sleep and wanted to set it up quick but it ended up taking me hours.
