Question: Can you swap LTC for XRP in the Ledger Nano S? Also, in everyone's opinion, what is a great alternative to Coinbase for buying and selling? TIA

This was very interesting and helpful Rex as I’m in the process of managing my son’s crypto portfolio with his Nano X on my PC. May have to chat with you when all this gets finalized should there be some particular questions or concerns. Thank you!

I have a question for anyone who may have experienced this. When I try to add Stellar XLM to my Nano S it keeps telling me my internet is down or something like that I can't remember exactly what it says but something to do with my internet. I can add other accounts just not Stellar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the video! Would I be able to log into a family member's Ledger Live account by inputting their password into my Ledger Live app on my PC?
@CryptoDad
@CryptoDad Год назад
No, the two copies would have separate preferences. You would need to be in their windows account to log in if you knew their password

After you have set-up a second ledger with a separate 24-word seed, how do you set it up and authenticate it on your current Ledger Live?

Shouldn't Ledger Live always prompt me to login with an email and password every time I open the app on my computer? Is there a reason my Ledger Live always stays logged in? I want to log out but don't see a way to do that. Thanks!
@CryptoDad
@CryptoDad 19 дней назад
@@stevenpeterson5981 the default now is no login. It’s really not necessary since no one can move the crypto without the device and lots of people would forget their password so they decided to simply take it off. If you really want a password all you need to do is go into the settingsand turn on password lock. It’s in the general section.

LOTS of stuff missing in this Video Explanation that people need to consider in my opinion. Otherwise things can get out of hand/confusing .....really fast.

What kind of missing information would you suggest for this? Im currently dealing with a similar scenario to what he demo'd but with multiple windows users, and one Ledger device. Ledger support suggests such a scenario would lead to having multiple recovery phrases but I suspect the use of the word account for both Windows and for a wallet.address and possibly also for the LL user themselves may have gotten me a skewed answer.

I have a conundrum at the moment similar to what you've shown. I have various windows user accounts on the same laptop, which I used with a SINGLE Ledger device. During a software version refresh of LedgerLive it failed to complete and it looks like the software is no longer in the C:Program Files/Ledger Live .exe and all the shortcuts no longer point to anything. I don't see that there is a totally separate install of LL for each Windows user. Question is - Assuming I can get the software to successfully reinstall on the Admin account, does it seem likely that LedgerLive and/or Windows can put things back into working order? I'm nervous understandably about continuing to try and install before I know this will work.

Not really sure why you have so many separate accounts. (Multiple people, multiple wallets...) But for whatever reason you have used separate instances to compartmentalize your accounts. The good news is that each wallet/account is stored in your device, and if your device is working and you have your 24 word backup phrase, there is no way you are going to lose your crypto regardless of whether Ledger Live is corrupted or not. The bad news is that you may need to reinstall Ledger Live clean and then have to go back and figure out which wallets belong with each instance you created. This can be tedious, but not impossible. I have a few videos that can help with this process. Of course you should just try a strait in-place reinstall of Ledger Live in each windows account (maybe start with the admin account) and see if that works. But no need to be nervous. The accounts are not going to disappear. They are saved in the device and can be recreated if all else fails. @@CryptoDad Thanks for your help Sir! Multiple Windows users started by wanting to keep separate the balances coming from Binance,Kraken, Bittrex, KU for (the same coin especially). I only used Exodus and different windows users setups was the way to accomplish this. I kept it going once I got a the ledger What scares me a bit is not knowing how Ledger maintains record of what each different windows user owns and limits visability and access to just that windows user. However that works, might affect my results since the original .exe file was dumped during my attempted software re-install. Hoping that the Ledger device itself knows what is owned by a unique ID such as Laptop+WindowsInstall+WindowsUserID and nothing was lost in the Legerlive software of prior install. Otherwise, I'm fearful that a reisinstall might behave as if I moved to a new laptop and Ledger is confused by different circumstances, different users, etc and I basically havent' Lost anything but have no access.

@@CryptoDad Finally have my head wrapped around this, YES all balances and balances on ONE ledger are accessible regardless of whether you set up LedgerLive and managed the addresses under different Windows users. I'd only added the coin and address under each windows user (and so it was only visible under when logged in as that windows user) Since windows itself limits access to other uses stuff it made sent that this could continue within the ledger when using on different windows users. Ledger support didn't help when said "Restoring a wallet doesnt bring back the accounts added for other users" which sounds a lot like I was screwed.

Hi, Crypto Dad I have a question: I purchased Optimism from my Crypto account and transferred it to my Ledger-live. Now I'm encountering an issue trying to send or sell my Optimism in Ledger-live because the parent's amount is zero. I'm unable to find any way to purchase or send any “OP mainnet1”, which is the parent of Optimism. It seems my Optimism is stuck in Ledger-live, and I'm unable to send or sell it anywhere. Additionally, there is no swap option available. Today, I attempted to send CAD 10 of my Ethereum to “OP mainnet1”, to check if the amount would change, but unfortunately, nothing happened, and the amount remains at zero. Could you please assist with this issue so that I can send, sell, or swap it from Ledger-live? Your help would be greatly appreciated.🙏❤
