How to install Mustang Style DRL and fog light in 2016-2020 Honda Civic

Hello,
In this video, I am installing a fog light with DRL and a sequential turn signal in my 2016 honda civic. It's the same with the 2016 to 2020 models. The following is the list of all parts I have used.
1. Fog light

Mannn i don’t look forward to this upgrade for my civic. The side markers were simple but tedious. This looks complicated AND tedious hahaha. All in the name of our love for cars, amirite? Ty for this video, you’re a champ!

I commented on your underglow video on how to feed the wire from the driver's side footwell to under the car. That trick where you drilled a hole underneath the fender liner is what I'm looking for and answers my problem. All I need now is a hook pick tool for the clips with the hard to reach tabs on the fender liner unless you used a different tool for those. Thanks for this !

I just wanted to give you straight way to fish wire without drilling but yes this will also work if you are fine with drilling. And you can choose point where you want to drill.

Good morning thanks for the previous advise I change the fog lamps . I had aftermarket fog lamps with the plug and play harness .my fog lights have connectors installed already to plug in fog lights harness but with that plug there is another black wire which I assume have to connect with daylight running light or parking light . If I dint connect that wire will my fog lights work or give me best solution please . Thanks

The video is very cool! I saw an installation on a Civic G10 where the sequential arrow flashes along with the car's arrow when turning the alarm on and off. I imagine that the yellow turn signal wire needs to be connected to the positive pole of the car's turn light, is that correct? Where should the black be connected? on the negative of the battery or on the negative of the turn light? (maybe it doesn't matter because it's the negative). And where should the red wire be connected? In the post-key post positive or in which positive? IF THE RED IS PLUGGED IN THE POST-KEY, THE SEQUENTIAL TURN SIGN DOES NOT FLASH ALONG WITH THE ALARM. Any tips for the sequential arrow to flash along with the car arrow that flashes when the alarm is turned on and off? Thanks.

Some now how to do it with the regulars lights, i got my honda hatch 2020 but i wanna do it with my original light but the car doesn’t let me turn the fog lights with the day lights

Factory wiring for fog light is required headlight to be turned on before fog light can be on. I don't think it's good idea to play with factory wiring.

Interesting video but everyone is installing these after market fog lights wrong. You do realize Honda has existing fog light connectors pre installed for simple plug and play on base , LX , EX without fog lights and absolutely no drilling holes in the firewall required. You will see a brown connector under the dash in the footwell below the steering wheel. It’s taped up to a main harness. That connector is for fog lights. The other brown connector is hiding in the engine compartment beside the washer bottle or beside it. It could be covered in a grease type substance and hard to see but it’s there on 2016-18. Virtual plug and play without drilling holes into the cabin. You just need to possibly add a 20 amp fuse in the fuse box under the dash where it says fog lights. Just thought I’d let you guys know. I installed fogs on my 2016 LX. Plug and play easy. Not sure how the DRL function is wired though. Probably spliced into the turn signal wire.

Thank you for this @northubuild Just bought these and was worried because it didn't come with a wiring diagram or installation instructions. I will give it a shot! What did you have to do to get the fog light covers to fit? You said you had to cut something?

@@justinprovo I cut some of the tab to screw bracket on bumper shorter to make it fit. When you will try to install it you will know which tab is longer then required and just cut that tab and will fit perfectly.

Hi, if your car has a sensor in front then don't install this light otherwise it will stop working and the car will throw some error codes.

i have the same drl lights , but mine has the blue light thats supposed to turn on at night white during the day, what i want to know is where do i connect the wire to make them turn blue at night .

Mine has blue light too. Just I don't like it and it's not allowed to run blue light in cars by law so I did not connect it but if you want connect cable for blue light to low beam positive cable and it should work. Also you have to find positive terminal in fuse box which is hot only when car is running. If you use relay which I have used then it will stay blue all time since mine is running only when headlights ON.

My car don't have Lane watch system. I don't recommend installing this if you have Lane watch system. Only fog lamps can be installed.

Fog light is directly connected to battery. It has its own fuse and relay to work with switch.

If you want blue light then you can tap into headlight positive wire so whenever you turn on headlight, your drl will change from white to blue and for red wire you have to tap into existing drl from factory but make sure you tap in fusebox and not at headlight connector or you might blow fuse.

Hi , I have the ones where it's blue at night and white during the day , I have the left turn signal wired, but the wire for the right turn signal is too short, is there anywhere else to wire the right side or do I have to find a way to extend the wire

Closest place will be at right signal bulb. If it's short then you need extra wire to extend it.

I don't recommend to install this on car with sensor. It don't work. You can only install fog light but not DRL.

Make sure to connect black wire to negative and red to positive. Still not working then it's defective.

I did not wire blue light but if you want blue light working then you have to wire it completely different then my video. You have to tap into DRL wire for red cable instead of relay and cable for blue light can tap into head light.

They work. That's how I wired so when my headlight is ON, then this DRL turns ON.

I switched it around, now it works with the headlights but won’t turn in when the switch is on AUTO

Yes because it goes on with headlight. I am still trying to find place which get power when car turns ON and off with car off that way it runs with car.

If you have adoptive cruse control sensor then you can not put this one.

@@yankara2442lol I have the mustang leds on my Honda I have the adaptive cruise control brake light lane departure and like one more the dealership told me the the plastic part is covering the sensors they told me I would have to remove them but hell no I’m just going to try and find a way I’m going to ask my mechanic

My drl lights (white ones) seem really dull and sometimes don’t come on but the indicator lights work perfectly and are bright

@@Sammo_7 So you saying there was not any black control box? and also did you wire a red wire to relay as I have shown in the video and black to battery negative? I did not connect the red wire to the headlight because the headlight wire is not designed to carry current for these extra LEDs.

Don't know anything about cars. 2:23 you touching the black wire to the metal but not to the battery's negative terminal?

Car metal body is call ground and in all cars battery negative is always connected to car body near to battery. So you don't need to run ground to all the way to battery. Just find clean non rusted and unpainted spot where you can connect ground.
