how to install push to start system button in car or truck 

If you buy a legit car that has been cheaply taken care of but you want to spend a moderate amount on it (oil, tune up and fixes) then this is great. Push button start with will make the car slightly more awkward to steal once the panels are buttoned back down. Turning a screwdriver or tire repair tool to start a car puts the gas station attendants and nosey jerks on high alert so a push button is the best of both worlds you don't have to take the key in and out and you can still start it without raising anyone's suspicion. Also if you're installed one it also lessens suspicion because you wouldn't waste money on something nice like that if it was a throw away stolen car. That is why I'm doing mine, my car was neglected but now I'm nursing it back to normalcy. I'm missing a few wires though. Don't see a ground or Key On. 1. I mean ACC and Key on 2 makes sense to me not sure what Key On. 1 is for... Also have to figure out how to tap the brake wire to the clutch one I'm guessing.

Figured the push button start”thanks to this video. I think I’m going to use the brown wire to trigger my intercooler pump.

You could always just super glue your key in the ignition and have a “turn to start” set up.... same principal

Great job explaining. I am still considering this upgrade, nd had not thought of the transmission lock until you mentioned it. I drive a truck with trans on the column nut will still have that prob, but it makes not sense to do this and leave the key cylinder as part of start up. Thanks

You could mount the shifter lock cable to the brake light switch area , so the brake pedal has to be pressed to shift out of park! 👍

HA! I'm sitting here waiting for Amazon to deliver my Start/Stop unit for my Stratus so I thought I would check RU-vid for some videos, and what do I find? Thank you for the clear explanation and for showing the wires, I wasn't sure which one was the starter wire from the ignition switch, but I see you have yours hooked up the the yellow wire. Also, I never even thought of the shifter lock-out, so I disconnected the cable like you showed. I was actually wondering what the cable was for. I want to keep the barrel in the column in case the Start/Stop button poops out. Thanks for the great video. Thumbs up!

Cool idea but too many concerns with installing in a vehicle that issues standard key start . Steering wheel don’t lock , and neutral safety switch doesn’t lock the gear shift .

Push to start is cool and all, but they should still require a key. Well, not the conventional metal key we use for our house, but a place where you plug in your smart key and then push to start vs it being on the seat and starting it...

theoretically can you hotwire your car and install of touching the wires together to start just install a momentary button, then use keys for everything else, insert key turn to on position then push hidden button to start?

Professional car locksmith here. I DO NOT recommend doing this. IF you have a problem, or lose/break your key, Then we won't be able to help, and towing to the dealer will be very expensive. Keep it stock. It won't add any resell value, and it will be much easier to lose your key that way. Also why is it suposed to be so hard to put your key in your ignition now?

I got it connected and it all works like it should EXCEPT that when I turn it on using the button the AC compressor doesn't engage and get cold. Anyone have any idea why that would be? I notice there is like one extra wire coming from the harness that also turns on at IGN 2 position but I can't find any documentation for that wires function and doubling up on the IGN2 wire still doesn't work.
