Thanks for the video. I followed it to install mine. What a smooth transition. Just Plug and Play. I bought the Android Auto, Car Play and Mirror Link One. No battery Drain Issue observed since two weeks. Didn't require a reverse camera as I already have it on my rear view mirror. All steering wheel buttons work except the voice button - push to talk (It's a mute button at the moment, however, can be changed to push to talk by changing the code using VCDS - I'll try and let you know). Mine is Golf VI 2010 Wagon.
It does. But some of the radios seem to display an error if no camera is connected. You can just close it and see your pdc. If you want the message gone you have to code it

Discover Media is a bit different head unit than RCD330G. As I have understood installing Discover Media unit should be direct plug&play swap without any additional parts. Please look Discover Media installation videos on youtube.
Hello, I am planning to purchase this device to replace my stolen RCD510, on my old radio the display shown also the air conditioner temperature (only when it was manually set with the rotary knob). I see in the video you also have a dual-zone air conditioner like my Scirocco so it should be easy to verify if this function works or not. Many thanks in advance.
Sadly this head unit will not display information from Climate control panel (temp, vent. speed, etc). As all information can be seen from Climate control panel, then I can´t see any drawback of choosing this set. Luckily steering wheel buttons operate smoothly with RCD330G Plus.
@@anthonyvillalobos5191 When reversing image appeared on MIB PQ(without OPS), the image will be displayed on the screen for 8 seconds when you setback the car. 8 seconds if no camera video signal, MIB will take it as system failure! Generally our Cameras are powered by reverse lamp, when we take out the reverse lamp, if not other camera equipments are included, there will be no power supply, so display shows fault code! So again when you set back the reverse gear, the screen will not display reverse image again! This filter can delay power supply for 10 seconds, and only the last record of trigger time delay will be recorded, can be the perfect solution to the problem of MIB reversing!
I´m not 100% sure, but most likley you can´t change any settings of ESP via radio. No, this headunit does not display indormation like fuel consumption etc. All this you can see via Maxidot, if your car has it.

I did this an my new radio went into component protection - thought it was stolen. Took it to a dealer and the stereo wouldnt show up on the dealer software when connected thru the ECU. Any ideas?

I don't know if you want to try but I read it has something to do with CAN. You need a CAN dongle to activate the CAN message to internally turn the radio off. There are other options, but for this you need some electronic skills
Manfred Wilck Thank you for your advice. Yes, I thought I should upgrade somehow the CAN. On the other hand, everybody says I shouldn’t need such upgrade, since my car is relatively newer (2009) and upgrading the CAN is pointless. So, I’m pretty much stuck:)
@@AndrasKSzabo Would it still work? I mean Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and all that? Fir some reason I had mine without antenna cable and I don't want to wait until it comes, so I would like to just plug it in and start using Apple CarPlay. I never listen to radio anyway.
Maybe I didn't understand your question, but this antenna adapter cable (also RVC cable) was included with head unit backage. You can also buy them separately from Aliexpress (~5€). Search "rcd 330 antenna" keywords.
I notice on the back it has a red tag with 10 on it. The one I'm looking at has a blue tag with 15 on it and is a 6RD 035 187 Version B. Will this impact its compatibility?

Amin Estati No, sadly this unit will not display climatronic visuals. If you have allready RNS/RCD 510 car radio, then I strongly reccomend to swap it with Original Discovery media headunit.

Andrew Teymourian-Yates it sure would. The 187B has the Bluetooth module installed, so it’s pretty much plug and play. Also, If you have an iPhone it has carplay. If you’ve Android I’m sure there is the android equivalent available. I got mine off Ali express, and it cost under $170. Best money I’ve spent.

Yes, all buttons worked after this swap. About functionality only phone button is workig differently as this is now mute, meaning you can use with this headunit phone option via bluetooth, but you can't operate with steering wheel buttons.
Sadly I don't have Iphone and therefore it's very hard to answer. With my Android and BT you can't operate with STW buttons, you have to use head unit buttons to connect your phone.
Does this unit operate without the key in the ignition like the factory fitted ones but switches itself off when you put the key in, switch the ignition on and then off and pull the key out? Thanks.
Yes, this unit operates without key in the ignition and switches off after while. When you put key in and switch the ignition on/off unit still continuous working and if you remove key from ignition it will shut off.
Sid Mahmood hi , i installed 330g plus with canbus decoder quadlock in my vw polo 2012 , i am having battery drain issue , not sure whats the issue , the functions , bluetooth , backlight , and everything works fine , the radio turns off with key out , major issue is battery drain overnight , appreciate any help on this , thanks .
Quite tricky to solve your problem from here. Most convenient way to understand the problem is to use multi- meter and see, whether battery drainage is caused by head unit or some other component in your car.
