Also on my 2005 rubicon the mirror screws are T 27 torx, a T25 will work but us loose, so make sure to use T27 on OEM screws to avoid damage and strip the torx bolts

Made my own. 3/8 x 6" threaded rod. Piece of 3/8 i.d. black gas line over the rod. A few 3/8 nuts and washers and the cheap, 12.99 a set universal jeep mirrors from summit racing. Mounted in top door hinge/pin hole No i cant see well because they vibrate but it beats a blank and i can get them on or off in 30 seconds. Little kids, i can only get away w/o doors for a couple months a year. Besides, got some rot going on my windshield frame, ive tried removing those painted torque head bolts b4. Just messed up any paint that was left. Btw the threaded rod is bent in middle to about 25 degrees, just enough to push mirrors out away from body. I started at 8" but the hieght wasnt necessary and vibrate more the longer the rod is. It works, its quick, and its legal

Dude, your mirror came out so easy... I just too a hammer and a bit driver to mine and it wouldn't budge! But I guess that's what you get with a 20 year old mirror that's never been removed!

I noticed when you removed your mirror that it had three holes other than the three that hold the door on. Did you make those holes? My YJ doesn't have those holes and I wanted to add the kind of mirrors you are moving.

Great video, I bought the Quadratec relocation brackets and was disappointed. the quadratechs look out of place and they limit how far the door can swing open to get in out. Thes rugged ridge look a lot better, wish I;d gotten these instead of the quadratech ones.

You shouldn't need a torch, they might be a little tuff to get off so use a hammer and tap the wrench. or use a pipe for extra leverage.

Did you use a torch punch to remove the bolts?

The problem with these brackets is that you can't see the passenger mirror. Correctly I left both brackets on. So I can just swap the mirrors to the other bracket when removing my doors. I think the brackets were intended for half doors not full doors

Those brackets look like they interfere with the door travel ... do the strap stops sop the door before it hits mirror bracket?

Those bolts must’ve been loosened because Jeep uses locktite on those bolts

what size socket did you use to remove the bolt on the bottom of the mirror?

Use antisieze on the bolts before you put the brackets back on. And put something in those door holes!

So you don't reuse the tension spring and cup washer?

Nice video, one small thing I would do differently would be to put the factory torx screws back in the door side so there wouldn't be any holes... Just for looks 😀

They do not bother to show you how the passenger mirror sits and how visible it is.
