well its my second rig ever and first running HiveOS so it was a huge struggle and even though this video is only 5 months old my UI is somewhat different already. Its insane so I stumbled through it for hours but its operational. Phew Thank you for this video it helped somewhat

Just 6 months ago i was content with grandma lvl knoweledge of my pc. Now i would really like to connect with more people where we can discuss, help each other out and troubleshoot. Just got my rig up and running with 1 gpu. However my balance stays at 0dollar and the miner is running (phoenixminer on ethermine). When will i get a payout to my wallet (metamask)?

hi mate, great video, thank you for the help. I have a beginner question (first time miner here). When adding a flight sheet, and I pick the pool, do I have to register somehow to that pool? Or just select it here on the hive UI? I've seen multiple times that to use a pool, I need to go to it's website, register and get a worker ID for my miner.

You bet. Yeah, the upgrades are fairly stress free. But then one sneaks up on you that you didn't read, and next thing you know, your drivers don't work with your cards anymore :). True story. I've read the update notes ever since. Nothing like losing 2 hours in an evening trouble shooting because I didn't read the release notes.
When I start my rig it asks me some question, but I don't know what it's asking 'cause the quality of the words is so bad that I can't read it. I can tell that it's mentioning the name of my rig, but that's it. My HiveOS management page is still showing it as "No miner is set."
I’m struggling to get my first miner up and working. A whole week of nothing cooperating and everything going wrong. Can I mine using hiveos over wifi? I’m guessing that is one of my problems
Yes you can, but I don’t recommend it if you are just getting started. There are very few WiFi modules that will work and it just adds a level of complexity. Can you run a temp ethernet cable until you get up and running, them]n switch over?
@@HashRaptor That is exactly what I've done. But now I'm having to learn coding to install drivers for the GPU cards. I wish someone would go into all these details on youtube. I'm pretty determined to make this work.
Sorry, that is frustrating. Usually I have to remove the USB and put it back in. Sometimes even reboot the machine. Worse case, shut down and unplug for 10 seconds. Then power back up. I hope that helps!
I have an issue, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I can't see that "flight" button so my miner "misses the flight". Also I don't see the top bar like that. Help please!

Great video, thank you. You mentioned using MAC at one time. Is there a way to edit the config file on the SSD via MAC due to it formatting the card for Windows? Or can this be done once it is booted from the GPU Rig? Sorry if I missed the Q&A if it was asked below.
Hey, so can’t get my rig to mine. I’ve followed the video exactly. Only different is I have all 8 gpus up and running at once. I’ve tried flight sheets using a couple different miners and no luck. I get the symbol for low hash rates in hive but I show no signs of mining otherwise. Any ideas or help?
i have been doing this for 2 hours. did exactly whats asked but when going online to my hiveos dashboard, its still showing blank. anyone explain what hell im missing?
Newbie question but are you on your computer connected to your rig or another one while logged into Hive OS? Do you need to first install Windows on your rig and then login via web browser?
thanks was a lot of help. My rig did not like any of my usb thumb drive. So had to grab an old HD to get up and running. Now just waiting on my server PS set up to get here so I can start to move in my other cards.
I can't get it to work. Can someone help me figure it out. How should I restart my computer, should I go into BIOS and say it should boot from the USB thumb-drive? Or Shall I just plug it into the windows OS when it is running?

Was wondering if you could me out with this problem... I get the following error when trying to set my overclocks on 2 of the connected eGPUS. Do you know which PCI 1-4 adapters are compatible with HiveOS. I have one that is not recognized but need to buy one that is automatically recognized in HiveOS Linux.
My rig is up and running on a gigabyte ssd. It can run for days at 100% accepted rated. However the moment i start to make changes to settings or overclocks and save these changes, i lose the connection which is very frustrating. The miner however continues to mine bit i cant use the interface anymore. What cause this problem ? Help needed cause it is very frustrating...

You just plug the USB on your rig, flash it at boot and you're ready to go? No need to install on a internal drive? So basically one usb stick per rig?
Hi, I'm new to this world and I've connected Wallet Address, but for more than a day my balance in hiveos and Binance is no update, it's only 0.00. Where there may be a problem I see MH / s I see the consumption degrees on the map, but the only thing that has not changed for this time is the balance.
i know this is an old post but thought i would ask just in case someone comes acroos this but when i use etcher to flash my usb it splits it into 3 drives E(HIVE);F;G; and asks to format the 2 that dont have the hiveos on them is that normal ? i have yet to see a video talk about that during install
Hi mate, Can I ask your advice? in the pool server on hive-os im Europe but I choose the USA as secondary do I need to? and is so why and what would make it change from one to another ? my 3060ti changes from time to time . Hey great questions. I may cover this in a future video. The reason to select USA in your case is as a back up stratum. Also if you were Mining fine only upgrade a couple times a month unless you see a security update or read something in a forum about enhanced miner performance. Otherwise I recommend to leave it Mining for stability and total up time.
Your instructions are great. Unfortunately HiveOS has this problem with setting up new accounts where it traps you in a confirmation loop. It’s a trash system. It’s stopped me three times now setting up two large farms. It just keeps asking for your password, then requiring email code, then telling you the password is wrong. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen and so easily avoided.
i installed everythink proparly and when im rinning hiveos this pops up Confing"hive-confing/rig.conf" existes but during boot the connection to API server failed. can anyone help ?
hmmm, try downloading the rig.conf from the Hive OS web gui and copy that onto the drive if you haven't tried that already. Also, are you mining via ethernet?
do you need to instal anything on your rig before plugging in the hiveos system? what I really want to know is do you have to instal linux first or does it come on the pen after your flashed it with your config file.

Did u create vid for wallet option sir? I have no idea of which good wallet to choose. For hardware wallet, we still need software wallet to be targeted in mining right? If I'm not mistaken.
Great point. I have talked about the wallets I use in a bunch of video's, but I haven't done one specifically on wallets. For example, one of my favorites is the Coinomi wallet available on almost all platforms including mobile. I like it because I can store and monitor all of my balances in one place. For raven, I use the raven mobile wallet. Occasionally, I have to use a desktop wallet but not too often these days. Take care!

Nice presentation. I try install step by step the Rig1 with 12 AMD Radeon RX 570 GPU. Must i do extra setup on linux for that, because when i start mining i get error - device 0: "out of memory error". Please any idea why.
balena etcher will not run on my win7 sp1. appears to install fine but when i launch it off desktop icon the UI wont pop up. task mgr shows its running but no UI or systray icons. desktop just stays the same. guess I'll try to find alternate utility and comeback to your vid since theyre always simple and in depth
@@HashRaptor just a heads up...I used a tiny open source program called Rufus to burn the iso to usb. it doesnt even require install. it worked flawlessly. Im wondering why everyone plugs the 500 mb etcher instead of the 1.1 mb Rufus?
It could be in the bios of your motherboard. Make sure you have it set to above 4G and make sure your TCIE speed is set to GEN one or GEN two. If you’re using 3000 series GPU’s, make sure you update the drivers.

So for a completely new PC with a single GPU, can I just install this without ever installing Windows? I have an extra MB/CPU/PSU/GPU/Monitor and want to use it to mine apart from my main desktop PC. Do I have to first put Linux on?
@@karlhungus545 HiveOS is built on Linux (Ubuntu 18 in the latest version). Just run the flash tool on your SSD or USB drive and you'll get the operating sytem and mining software. The video does a great job of explaining the config part.
Oh, that is a tough one. That is like asking what is the best stock to buy :). I like mining Eth with mine, then researching smaller coins to speculate on, and mine those for a while. Like "swap" for example. I love Raven as well.
Accidentally run 'exit' command on 1st page of HiveOS screen (root@rig-xx:~#). now I cannot resume typing. how to go back to the previous root? Does that called hiveos shell?
Hashraptor, I followed your video and got to every step except for at 15:00. I'm stuck at that point, during the boot sequence the network gives me a "see systemct1 status systemd-networkd-wait-online.service for details" but I tried to look it up and didn't find anything. I can see all the parameters except it won't mine.
@@HashRaptor the error message says that "Network is offline, check your Internet connection [FAILED] Failed to start Wait for Network to be configured" and then followed by what I said in my original post. I re-downloaded Hive OS Beta and etched it and created a new worker and it connected and it is showing me its temperatures, fan speed, etc all the stuff it should, but it doesn't let it mine. Maybe my internet is blocking it? I have it running Ethernet. How do you get into the tech support discord?
I am currently only trying to set it up with one card, I plan on adding more after. I tried two different mother boards and a RX 570, RX 5700 XT and currently a Zotac 1070TI and I'm still getting the same results. I'm not sure if I see the card in my bios but I know it is detecting it because it is on the Hive interface, and its attempting to mine with it but at 0 hash.
At the step show at 2:06 where you open and modify the config file I can’t re-write the file it’s said is protected and that happens with the whole SSD after flashing with etcher (I’m using MacBook) it’s any good reason for this?

Guys I am new to this so please help me out with this: I just bought a rig but it's connected to the owners HiveOs account. How to I transfer rig to another account? how do I access rig.conf?
So congrats on the new rig. The previous owner should have transferred ownership within hive to you. But since he didn’t just don’t start it and let it mine until we get this fixed. Go and create your own hive account if you have not already. Create a new rig and name it. Download the rig.CONF file to the USB or hard drive. You can take a look at my video on hive OS to see how to do that. Once that file is on your USB, the rig will be yours and you will see it show up in hive. Let me know if you have any more troubles.

Greetings from Calgary, Berta :) I just bought an external SSD for my first miner. I can flash HiveOS successfully but after the flash I cannot see it on my Windows! Hence I cannot put my rig config on the drive. I formatted and tried on my second PC but exactly the same issue! Going nuts for hours to resolve this but no luck :( How do you see it on your windows just after the flash?
Sorry to hear it. I know that can be a pain. Often times you have to remove the SSD and plug it right back into the windows machine and it will register. Or, depending on the problem, shut all the way down and unplug your PSU for 30 seconds. Good luck my friend!
Same problem here. Did you ever figure out how to fix this? Day 2 here of mining and still 0 balance. No lost shares. I'm confused. My wallet is all setup too.
Since moving to HiveOs I miss Simple Mining. After some time trying to get the rigs running the wattage Hive shows is almost half of what is from the wall.
Yeah, Hive just shows the GPU power draw. So SMOS shows the power from the entire rig, not just the GPU’s? I always measure everything from the wall when I need a definitive reading, probably the same with you guys.
I think you accidentally solved an issue I was having. Due to location, I've been using a TP-Link USB wireless adapter on a rig with 5, 5700s and 2 570s. It was really flaky on Windows / Nicehash so I tried to get NiceHashOS to work. It always failed to register the rig identifier. Meanwhile, the same USB booted perfectly in a new rig with 8, 570s. I set up a USB for HiveOS and it is showing me a lot more detail. I see the reason that is failing is that it's not picking up that USB wireless. I'll bet that's been the prob as my other rig runs a Brostrend. I'm going to set up a switch so I can use ethernet cables and test but I'm still switching to Hive since I prefer Linux and the detailed data is much better.

I’m new here and I just built a 5700XT Red Devil rig. I haven’t installed Windows10 or hivos yet. The only thing I’ve done was connect a monitor to the MB and power on the rig. Can you please walk me through step by step what I need to do first? Do I need to install Windows10 on the motherboard? Much thanks! 🙏🏻
Hi, I am new too, just 2 days into the steep learning curve. From what I understand so far you need to make a bootable usb drive, I am pretty sure he has a video for doing that with NicehashOS. Now if you could help me with how to use RVN with nicehash I would very much appreciate it ..:). It is showing as far more profitable than kawpow at the moment and I cant see how I swap over.
Hi, I tried a first build with a gtx 980 and my ETHASH is only around 300kH/s but the HASHRATE is around 18MH/s is it right to have a big gap between the two?
