How to install spark plugs on a Kia Stinger without removing the intake manifold--HKS M45iL Plugs

In this video I show you guys how to install the HKS M45iL spark plugs on a Kia Stinger GT2 without having to remove the intake manifold. These plugs are essential for running a tune without the risk of misfires at the top end. These plugs were gapped to .023. It is a tedious process but defiantly doable with patience, maneuverability and the right tools. A huge thank you to my father for helping me with the install and showing us a few tips and tricks.

Great video, very clear explanations. Sounds like the "ideal tool list" is: 1. U-Joint / Swivel Socket - 1/4" and 3/8" (two of these) 2. 10mm Ratcheting Monkey Wrench 3. Magnet Tool Plus the standard sockets / extensions and spark plug socket.

I finally got my HKS plugs installed today and right as they were being installed a massive storm started pushing in and it has been raining all day and I had to bring my car home and park it for the rest of the day. Not sure when the rain will end but hopefully tomorrow will be a nice dry day in order to have some E30 mix fun on Map 3 for the first time. It was supposed to take place today, but of course hello weather!! 🤣

@@6speedkillz821 honestly I think I get bigger gains on map 2. The gauges on the JB4 may say a higher number at times, but what I feel is what matters.

@@6speedkillz821 I feel like I am the only stinger on the road these days. If I see another one, it’s like a unicorn. Yet I see 82 K5’s every day.

Do you use the KIA torque specs for installation? Or tight + 1/4 turn. I use dielectric grease on the ceramic portion of the plug to make sliding the coil pack back over the plugs. Worked well. Definitely a DIY project I will never pay a dealership to do this ever again. Well done. I was wondering when you’d get around to this. All the good work you’ve done is paying off. Thanks for this.

My dad is a mechanic and has installed probably thousands of plugs. We didn’t have a torque wrench but I trust his judgment! I believe factory spec is 20ftlbs. And thank you I really appreciate the support!!

Did you ever try disconnecting that hose to the manifold for more clearance with that nagging spark plug

I ask cuz i have misfire cylinder 2 and i changed spark and coil. Still doing it but i was told driver very front is 2. Which might be my problem lmao
