@@novadevelopment454 Hi Nova, I just wanted to ask you 2 questions, since I'm looking forward to buy a 2TB Seagate hard drive, I'm wondering what to do as soon as i receive it ? like whether I need to format it or anything like that. Secondly, can i run gta 5 smoothly on my gaming laptop while being connected to that hard drive ? I would truly appreciate if you help me out in this confusing situation.
Thanks for being quick and to the point while making it clear as day. My internal storage couldn't house Mass effect legendary edition so I need to use the same external drive i use on my series x
Very helpful video for those of us who only have a 512 SSD hard drive which is all used up and have to put steam games on an external hard drive just to play them, thank you.
Thanks man I'm building a new computer set up & I wanted to move my steam games folder to my new 2 TB hard drive but I didn't know how to. Thanks again
Hey I have a question- 1-can I save my progress of the game in the drive. 2-can I use pendrive for small games. 3-if I put my drive in another laptop/desktop, will I be able to launch the game
I know this vid is 2 years old but I just wanted to say thanks bro I'm legit grateful to you I hit that subscribe button as soon as it worked for me 😂 can't wait to watch more of your videos 💯
Do you have to change the default file location under Settings>Downloads>Steam Library Folders when you want to play a game installed on your PC? Also, is there a way to move games already installed on your PC to the external hard drive so you don't have to re-download them all over again?
Was trying to help my brother install arma 3 and it turned out all I had to do was uninstall and reinstall and choose the external hard drive lol (it wasn't installed cuz of no space but still had to uninstall tho)
Thanks bro, i have exactly 4 gig left on my pc (yes i know its extremely little) and i bought a external harddrive like a month ago and i didnt know how to use it before now, thanks
Im curious to know how bigger games would run? something thats like 15-20gb in size? I think you should make a tutorial for open world games like gta or watchdogs (im testing as we speak lol )
Kardock I used an old wd my passport from like 2012 that had 1tb in it.... since this tutorial I've put all my games on there even the big ones ( SHENMUE 3, Ancestors, Assassins Creed Unity) all of them run really well. I plan to get a more powerful 2tb external SSD soon. SHENMUE and AC are well over 30gb
@@GamingBuzz1 Hi, i still dont really understand how this works.. Do we need to plug in the external hard drive all the time while gaming? Doesnt it overheat or something?..
Will it be good for gaming ? Like for Gta 5 or Call of Duty . Secondly am I supposed to do anything with my hard drive once I receive the delivery, I mean something like formatting or a setup maybe ?
thanks man! I only have 256 gb of storage on my pc. And I was wondering why all my steam games weren't download to my 1tb external hard drive. Thanks this really helped!
Thanks for the tutorital man! I'm just wondering: What happens when you remove the external hard drive? are the games grayed out again? and when you put it back in do the games come back as playale?
thank you! i literally just submitted a refund for the game and then i found this video! forgot i had a seagate 2tb sitting around. This video helped thanks again!
Sir I have a question as I've downloaded steam game from my friends computer to the external hdd. But issue is can I play that game on my pc as my steam account ?
Quick question. Will it be the same if my terabyte is build-in, in the computer? Because i have 1TB (1.000GB) but will it be a difference if its build-in or not?
So I had gta 5 installed on my external hard drive and when I took the hard drive out and to put it back in it told me to re install the game! Please help
Always have the external connected before launching steam. Also if it's already installed and you hit "install " , just click on your steamlibrary folder then all the games turn back on in steam.
My OEM has a hard drive so im just gonna download my stuff on an external SSD looool doing stuff the wrong way Also i have a question is it possible to move games already on your boot drive to a external drive through the steam app or do i have to move the files somewhere else or something
for some reason every time I do this exactly how he said to do it I get this message and it stops the download I'm very confused please help "ERROR - new steam library folder cant be added while downloading"
Is it possible to transfer games to and from the hard drive easily, so I can play games on my laptop without the hard drive being connected and then putting the game back onto the hard drive when I'm done and want a new one?
If I install some games onto my external hdd do I lose whatever progress is in that game? I know there was a process for moving progress info between computers that had steam games installed on both. It was kind of a clunky way but it worked.
say i have a game installed on my pc. im trying to move monster hunter world (or any other game for that matter) over to my external hard drive along with the saved data for the game. i understand now that i can install my games onto the hard drive directly from my steam library which is great, but what do i do if i want to move the game without losing my progress / saves?
the question is what about games with updates? if a game comes out with an update after you install it on an eternal then what do you do plug the eternal in and try to play the game cause fallout 76 is big and i want to stick it on eternal to save space but its a live service game.
i tried doing this and it works for a couple of times. like i can play the game with the external plugged in. but then there will be a time that i cannot play the game and it says i need to install the game again. so, how do i solve that problem?
Can't I just copy and paste game files from steam apps folder to Seagate 1tb hard disk. And delete from steamapps. and after months when I have to play that game again I just paste back to steam apps folder
L.O.G Hello pal. I really hope you read this. I'm try your method but i want to explain my problem and i want to know if you could possibly help me out and if you have gone through or heard about this problem. I had made 2 steam installations. One on my main C: drive and one on my usb external hard drive. And they always worked. But yesterday afternoon, i decided to install cs:go on my external hard drive and for some reason my download would always pause. and then my steam from my external hard drive would start to freeze for a few seconds every time i clicked on it. i can still install games on my C: drive but i can't install them through my steam that i had installed on my external. i'm gonna try to install them on my external through my main steam launcher from my C: drive but i wanted to know if you know a fix to my problem. any help is appreciated.
Chrizzy Boi hows 2tb? Would you recommend it if I’m looking to download tons of games? Is it more than capable of having 10+ games downloaded/installed?
Ok i now this video is 1 year old but i have a question: If i have CS:GO installed on my internal Hard drive, and i have an external hard drive where there are other games, when CS:GO has an update where will be installed? Internal or external? hope someone sees this!

But thinking about the entire process. you can only play cs go when you have the external hdd plugged in so every time you open it, steam updates should go there too
