No it's not waterproof you have to cover it with polythene when it's raining and yes it's long lasting although it depends how you care that

Yes I am also using this without sound you have to open the controller and then there is a rotater which change the sound you just adjust a piece of paper between the circuit and the rotater then it becomes silent

It's not ,but the light installed under the seat so there is less chance for water damage and you can cover the controller by a polythene or something else. I also used this like that
