I tried this today and it worked!!! I'm so happy to be able to play my favorite childhood game again after such a long time 😊😊😊 I can confirm that this works on Windows 11 and I used the Super Deluxe Version of the game. Thank you so so much for this guide you're awesome ❤
Is it still working?! I been wanting to play the sims 2 so I bought the cds off ebay but it didn’t work. I have a gaming laptop I really want to play please lmk if it’s still working
I’m super unfamiliar with computer terms that aren’t “open file” and “run” so this video has been a blessing. Also, can confirm that this works with single disc versions of the game.
Thank you so much for letting me know, awesome. And omg same, I had to learn all of them while frantically googling along multiple guides, so I'm trying to make all my guides as friendly as possible, I'm glad it carries over that way 🥰
This is amazing, thank you so much for doing this. I did it for the first time last night and it didn't work but did it again today by following every step you've went through and IT LAUNCHED (it crashed on launch before). Whether it continues playing is another matter 😂 You've went to so much effort and have done so well ❤️ you've gained a subscriber from me
I'm so glad it worked (kinda worked?) If you wanna figure out what might keep it from continuously running, feel free to DM my twitter or sth like that :). And thank you so much for subscribing !
You are a life saver! I tried to make it work for hours before my bf send your video. I did everything that you did, and now it finally working!!! Im soooo happy, ty ty ty
The guy who made the tutorial keeps shouting that it's very important for the GPU to be Vulkan compatible? Does that even matter after all? I know for me Sims 2 was working on my Dual GPU laptop just fine back when it was on Windows 7 and now it's all laggy. I would like to follow this step by step guide, but I really don't understand why this guy keeps fussing about Vulkan compatible. I'm confused.
I hadn't even seen that on the guide tbh, so I don't even know if that's something that I paid any mind to when I did this? I'm Also confused lol sorry
Hey thanks again for the walkthrough! Strangely for me, I didn't require d3 file. Other than that everything launched and looks great! I haven't played the Sims 2 in some time, it's my favorite iteration of the Sims franchise! Great video!
I'm so glad it worked for you! Yeah I think there are some things that are especially required for some versions but others work fine, also haven't quite found out yet what is a definite for which, but I'm glad it worked for you Overall 🥰 happy gaming!
I tried to put sims 2 on my windows 10 yesterday the base game installed completely fine and I was able to play, but when I tried to install the university expansion pack it started to install fine but when they wanted me to put in the 4th disc of the base game to update the game it stopped and told me that the update process did not complete successfully, installation will now terminate. What do I do?
Check out my first guide I made in this, it should be linked in the description. There is a file there in the description called update fix File, that should take care of it! Lemme know if it works :)
I've just watched your tutorial after failing to launch The Sims 2 and it SAVED ME. I have some expasion packs I want to install, should I delete the 4GB Patch from The Sims 2 folder before copying it to the latest expasion pack folder ? Danke vielmal !!
I don't think I did,but keep me posted , I think I also explained this more in detail in my previous Sims 2 video which should be linked in the description 🥰
THANK YOU. after a long night full of tears, this video was finally the source to break it down in simple enough terms for me. Truly a community idol in my heart.
I'm so glad! That's exactly why I did this tutorial, I poured so many hours and tears into it while I tried to understand the technical terms(why do tech Bros Always make it seem like it's obvious???) I'm so grateful you understand 😭❤️. Glad it could help!
There might be downloadable versions but they are not official and I can't endorse them since you always have the chance to download a virus. I'd suggest checking your local library and ebay maybe?
In your TSBin folder, when you add the d3d9.dll, does it create any other files like a log file? I'm still having a direct x 9.0c error, which seems to be pretty common, but I saw someone mention that certain folders/files should be created when you have successfully copied over the d3d9.dll file.
Ugg. I was so excited but it’s still crashing at the loading screen. Tried the workarounds listed on the tutorial but nothing is working. Fantastic video, though! Maybe eventually I’ll be able to identify the problem.
Oh no I'm sorry it isn't working. I know there are some other fantastic tutorials out there that do it in a different way, I hope you can find a solution soon
Thanks for your guide, it helped to go through the administrator things, but I have another problem, game says AutorunGUI.dll not found or corrupted, what should help? I use Double Deluxe disc
I found a thread that might be helpful, let me know if this works answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/missing-file-cannot-find-required-dll/e81501e0-6149-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5 :)
@@TheLittleMessenger Thanks for your reply, I have no Sims 2 in my PC, I tried to do as suggested at the link but still doesn't work(( To clarify, I able to start autorun at old Win7 PC, so I think no problem with disc itself
@@TheLittleMessenger I figured out how to go through this! I opened Local Group Policy Editor, and disabled "Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode", also I copied my disc on hard drive and used compatibility mode on AutoRun.exe as Windows XP Service Pack 3 and then I was able to at least open installation, now I have another issue which I don't clearly understand xDDD Hope it helps someone with same problem) P.S. After installation it's better to enable admin approval mode, I guess
Thank you so much. I was able to install all my expansions, but I do have a problem with launching it. I did the exact steps as requested before I tried launching it but it keeps having a "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system" error. I tried to find solutions on google but nothing worked.
Hi, I'm glad it worked first of all, second, mhhh, did you download the graphics rule maker? That sounds a bit like what it could be. Or the tar.gz thing? I'll brainstorm a bit for you, keep me updated, I'll comment again later
Hi. I have finally found a way for my Sims 2 to work! It still kept giving me the error after installing it with the discs, but I have found a alternative that works perfectly. Thanks so much. 💚
@@chantestrauss5803 I'm getting the same issue even after downloading the drivers recommended. What did you do to fix your issues? I'm getting the same error message
Oh no 😭 I really hope maybe you'll find a fix to keep it from crashing, maybe check my first guide, I mention some other things there? Should be linked in the description. But thank you for your sweet comments overall, really appreciate it 🥰
Thank you for the guide! I'm still experiencing issues when it comes to downloading the expansion packs, it installs and then asks me to install the Disc 4 from the Sims 2 base game and then says it couldn't update and uninstalls the expansion.
Hi Little Messenger. First off, thank you so much for this video and your files! I've gradually installed up to Free Time and I've run into the Administrator Blocked issue. I open up the CMD window, switch to the disc's drive so that I can see the files on the disc including the AutRun.exe - right clicking on that and selecting run as administrator again results in the block. I also tried the auto run in the cmd prompt screen but get an access is denied response. I'm not sure if I'm following your instructions correctly? I will tell you that if I right click on the auto run file on the disc and open up properties, I can select a a run this program as administrator box under the compatibility tab. I suspect this is where my set up is a little different than yours? I still get the red blocked message though. I am using the same original disc I've owned since it was released. Thanks again LM! I am really happy I can play up to Bon Voyage thanks to you! Peace & Love! maddie
Unfortunately, I run into the same issue with free time and I can't explain why 🥲 I think I mention this more in my first video? I feel like somehow it worked when I did it the second time on a different PC while literally nothing was changed. I'm so sorry, I wish I could be of more help
Ah, i had never seen your first video though I know you talk about it in this one. Well, again, believe me when I say I'm tickled for your help regardless! You gave me and it looks like many others joy and that makes you very special! ❤@@TheLittleMessenger
I followed the steps and ran it as admin, but it still gives me the error message that it’s being blocked by the admin. I’m downloading it from an attached dvd drive (as my PC doesn’t have one), could that be the issue? Is there anything else I can do?
Did you try to run it through the CMD while you started CMD as admin? The external drive shouldn't be an issue, I did that too in my first video. fingers crossed for you!
Hi i found your tutorial quite informative thank you. I have an Acer F15 laoptop that i usually play all my sims games on. I have installed my Double Deluxe version with all the expansions but after time i find that the base game files dissapear and i have to uninstall & reinstall everything.. coukd it be the mofs that are affecting the files? I add the updated patches & clean ui mod & fix mods to get rid of the shaddows etc to get the old game to run on a newer system... have you ever heard of dissapearing files happening? Very strange...... x
Thanks for the feedback, but both the title is already so long and the thumbnail is pretty crowded. Plus the guide in the video description also has a link to the digital I think.
I had an issue where the cmd workaround was still blocked on my Windows (might be because I'm using Bootcamp on an IMac). This video seemed to do the trick! Also, I'm installing Double Deluxe for anyone interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wngccxglk_U.htmlsi=2az65ckrQ0Mka_ry
i havent watched the video. just too long. but do we really need cd for that? i don't even have a base game cd. i only got apartments and the weeding stuff disc version sadly.
Wasn't even sure if I wanted to reply to your comment, thanks for not watching?! Yes you always need the base game, that's how games 20 years ago worked. Maybe next time you might even watch the video before commenting? Thank you 🥰
Hello! I don't know if you can help me, but I installed the expansion all glamor accessories and after that the Sims 2 Mansion and Gardens stopped working and this message appeared... " It was not possible to find graphics cards compatible with DirectX 9.0c on this system. Please ensure that you have a graphics card compatible with DirectX 9.0c and that you have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer". I do not know what to do!
I am here before watching the video i wanted to install the sims 2 so i did, later it tells me that the dvd drive is not detected. Just like some minutes ago i fixed that but now i have another problem. I installed the sims 2 pets and it tells me to put the disc into the dvd thing while it was here. What do i do ( sorry for bad english and grammar :(((( english is not my native language )
@@TheLittleMessenger i didnt actually but let me do it now. I think it does but i didnt check it because i tried playing jurrasic world and it told me to install some dvd player. So i think yes :)) But i think the problem might be that, that i lost my the sims 2 Bon Voyage or something like that and i cant start the game because it tells me to to open the sims 2 with using this Bon Voyage disc. ( sorry for bad english again )
Ahhh, I'd just deinstall and then reinstall without bon voyage, Sims always wants the latest expansion to be in the drive when you start it. So just make sure you own that newest pack. I'd google and check the order of Sims expansions 🥰
I'm not sure on the digital versions, but check the Google doc link in the description, maybe that has it? Someone else commented it worked on their ultimate disc version 😊
Well, yes? I'm not sure about the question. Are you asking if an online download also works if you can find one? In that case, I can't answer you, since that's technically theft.
I can't give a blanket statement on that, always make sure your antivirus software is up to date. I am not going to make any promises on getting a virus or something like that. I always am careful and make sure I double check everything, so I advise that to you too
The laptop brand has nothing to do with anything, instead it's about what kind of system you are running. Like , is it windows 10?11? Linux? I would advise you to google if you need help finding out cause I can't do that through comments, good luck 🥰
@@TheLittleMessengersorry im reading this so late but i had another question halfway through the video but do we need a disk in or for us to download the sims too? (im sorry if this was discussed i just had a question before finishing)
whenever i hit the 27% mark when downloading this message pops up "e:\base\tsdata\sims3d\sims11.package not transferring" literally no matter what i do it wont work. Did anyone else have this problem?
