Recently installed the lowers on my 2016 XP 1000. I had to remove a TON of aluminum for the end to fit into the knuckle. Definitely made the job a lot more difficult. I removed so much I had to take the knuckle completely off, put it in a vice, and really go after it to get it the radius rod to fit in correctly. Kinda frustrating. Had to remove so much that if I was to replace it with a different brand it most likely wouldn't fit right.
Ethan, we're sorry to hear about that. As discussed in the how-to video, there can be variances from the manufacturer for the tolerances between the tabs on the hub the radius rod fits between. We have test fitted these on many machines and we've also had to file some of them, for example, we had a 2018 model and they slipped in perfectly, but then on a brand new 2019 model, we had to do some filing. In your case, however, of the many machines we've installed these on, we've never had a case as bad as what you've explained with yours.
Most aftermarket rods are strong enough...but those Heim joints shown in this video are total crap....(made in China,. they have those black plastic injection slots on the sides of the ball joints) ....one went out in my 2018 RZR Turbo 1000 SxS...... cost me $550 in shock repair and 6-JMX Made in USA Heims....I was able to fix my twisted trailing arm....buy USA made Heims or you'll be sorry.
