Great guide! easy to follow along and will share with friends looking to mod the game too. Would love to see more guides on other popular/essential mods also!
Very cool tutorial everything clear and easy, BUT when i want to verify if i did all correct, i see only some squers when im writing this "getskseversion" in the comand table ... im 99% sure i did everything correct soo ... there is other way to veryfiy it ? and why i can see only those squares in the comand table ?
I think that has to do with the language not matching. Like playing the game in English but font is not in English for a certain mod? Probably skyui. Also download address library for skse plugins. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32444
Hello there! Does your guy's vortex install the mods inside the Mods or Data folder? Mine keeps installing them into Data folder but the game wont start with having them activated. I tried putting for example SkyUI into the Mod folder and it just worked. My vortex is installed on C: and Skyrim SE + mopds would be on another harddrive. Anyone got an idea what the problem could be here?
Open Vortex and click settings on the left side. Click on mods at the top and check your mod staging folder. Be sure to set it for the drive your game is on. For me it says "(drive):\Vortex Mods\skyrimse. If yours doesnt match where your game is installed, uncheck the defaults option and click the folder icon to find the correct mod staging folder. See 4:00 in video^^
After watching, I think I will, Uninstall everything again and reinstall from scratch. Have been working on getting vortex to work for the last two weeks. Nothing allowed me to download mods to my game . Vortex has been a pain to sync with my game. Thanks for this updated how to.
@@stanleygoen3790 I wish I had your patience, after having Skyrim in my library for an entire year I still haven't been able to get mods to work, let alone even play it.
Desperately hoping I’ll find something new to understand to get get lotd😅😅 still haven’t found a video and I’ve never modded before and my game only crashes…. if this video doesn’t help any recommendations or pointing to a super easily explained thread would be very appreciated 🤞
So I set my staging folder, and my mods are installed to a different folder outside of my Skyrim directory, and Vortex won't let me change my staging folder to my Skyrim mods folder. The reason I want to try and do this is because when I install mods through Vortex and enable them, Skyrim tells me I have no mods installed. I installed SKSE, so I'm not sure what my issue is here.
@@The_Baca_ I am. When I launch it, I don't have a mods tab in the main menu, but SKSE is working. I never had this problem modding before, but it's been a while since I modded Skyrim.
Thanks bro, looks like it works on my end, so I go no choice but to like. Great video but damn who hurt you 😭😭😭 at least try and sound excited to make the video haha
Hey Man, I did everything the same as you, but when i launch skyrim trough vortex the game quits to desktop once i hit load or new game. If i launch it without vortex, i get ab error message from skyui that skse is not running. But i did everything correct
Make sure your skse version is correct for your game version, make sure to disable auto updates, run loot and then quick auto clean, And always launch through skse
hi there, i've been modding skyrim forever but just got a new pc and decided to manually redo everything. i installed skse through vortex and then manually, but no matter what, i can't get SKYUI to load so i know something must be wrong. do you have any advice?
Double check the game version and skse versions are correct. And I never used vortex to install skse from nexus, so maybe an issue there. Also, did you check skse version at the main menu after launching the game?
@@The_Baca_ yes, the game version is 1.6.640 and I got the SKSE AE 2.2.3. I installed from the silver lock website after the vortex install didn’t work and still nothing!! And yes I am launching the skse application not skyrimSE
So, I have an issue that I can't find any help on. My SKSE64 reads an error that says , "SkyrimSE.exe not found". I have SKSE installed in the same folder as SkyrimSE.exe... Has anyone had the same issue and how do you solve this? The game path is correct in Vortex. I've double checked.
Did you just install Skyrim? If so you need to launch skyrim once so it registers to your pc then skse will be able to find skyrim. The tools section on the vortex dashboard should have skse. Make sure target file this "T:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe"
@@The_Baca_ Thanks for responding, but that's not the issue. I have the correct path as you mentioned as the target file but I was messing around and hopefully, I didn't mess anything up but what should the "start in" file be? I have skse injector engine in vortex but now the icon for SKSE isn't showing up correctly for SKSE in the dashboard. You can still click on it but the game is trying to boot, goes to a black screen and then crashes... I have no idea what's going on lol
@@adam_a923 The start in file is "T:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition" So I think skse checks for skyrim and then skyrim checks for skse. Also the most common thing I see is miss matched Versions. Like my Skyrim version is 1.6.640 AE, so my SKSE version must be the same. And If you have Special Edition SE, upgrade it to Anniversary Edition AE.If that doesnt work Idk what else it could be. 🤔
@@The_Baca_ Thanks for the quick response to help but i figured it out. I like to copy backup files just in case something happens so I accidentally copied the data/mod folder to the target game folder which vortex didn't like so it was causing to crash.
Also be sure to disable auto updates for skyrim to avoid an issue with a new version of skyrim not being compatible with skse. Until the skse developers update skse after a Bethesda update
On steam go to manage and set to only update when you launch the game, don't launch the game from steam. Now since you launch the game through SKSE you will never auto update
@@The_Baca_ after I did skse it stopped working I think I may have downloaded the wrong version too but i really want this to work for me I been doing this all day just for the game to not even load for me
@The_Baca_ yes. I have matched game versions. I have installed it in the same file as SkyrimSe.exe. I have given it administrator privilege to bypass firewall. I have created a shortcut to desktop that goes to the Skse loader.exe. I have even tried taking my steam library out of programmable files and into a separate folder incase that was this issue. Literally nothing works.
It's all customization for your game, and it's going to take time whether you use vortex or mod organizer. You can't expect to download something, and 30 seconds later It's perfect. It took a lot of people and time to get any of this stuff to work right. So is it really that bad to put a couple of hours in to set it all up properly ?
