Just did this install on my 2020 3up Spark and I'll give my tips: You will need some sort of pin extractor tool to remove the white blank pins from the wiring harness shown at 3:22 (I already had a set but they can be found cheap on Amazon, etc). Removing those blank pins was the hardest part of this job. Also, that wiring harness is removed by pulling down on the red tab then squeezing the middle of the harness right where the red tab locks into place. At 6:30 when locating the diagnostic port to plug in the module, my 2020 has fiber wrapped wires instead of the plastic/rubber sheath so it took me a bit to trace where the plug is located. It literally is plugged into a 'blank port'. Installing the new switch cover may involve 2 people (I did it myself with a bit of swearing). One person to hold the VTS switch and starter button and one to secure the new cover plate. I haven't tried out the setup yet as the midwest weather went from 85 on Saturday to 47 on Sunday. EDIT: I was able to try out the VTS this weekend. Holy smokes- it takes an already fun jetski into a whole new experience! Water wheelies are a blast! If you have a newer Spark with IBR then you need to do this install. Who cares about top speed when you can ride vertical! BTW I'm 51 and can wheelie with ease. Anyone can do this install and ride like a boss.
Idk if you will answer bc of 2 years ago. But is that all I need to install it? Like do I need a cable or any other part then the parts that are linked in the video?
@@thosemoments6193 Everything should be in the kit. I don't know what year Spark you have but the newer ones (2024) have a little different handlebar/ trim cover setup that I saw at the Minneapolis Boat Show. The only thing I bought separately was the terminal removal kit, and I had a bit of trouble getting those pins out. I think it took maybe a total of 2 hours from start to finish to get the VTS module installed. It wasn't hard, just tedious.
Excellent video! Just curious, if I wanted to turn a 2022 IBR Spark into a VTS with extended deflection (like the Trixx) would that be two separate modules / purchases I would have to make or do they sell an extended VTS kit that has the switch and handlebar pieces etc?
Just installed the vts kit on my 2016 with ibr and nothing works... vts dosen't show on dash... my dealer plugued in the computer and shows up in the parameters... anybody have an idea what it could be? Yes the wires are connected to same place in this video...
@@Pwcmuscle I know this is an older post…but does the spark need to be running to test the vts? I put the key in and tested the vts and it’s moving on the gauge but not on the jet nozzle…?
@@brycegrzeslo191 It's far far more cost effective to sell your current Spark and buy one with IBR and go from there. Respectfully, if you have to ask the questions on what it'd take, its going to be beyond what you should consider rather than buying a different unit that already has it.
Does anyone know what kit I need for a 2014 spark 2up? Do I need the regular variable trim or the extended? If anyone could point me in the right direction thank you
I installed a vts on my spark had ibr on it already. Vts comes up on screen now but I can't control up and down on trim. It's like in a limp mode or something with trim full up. Any ideas thanks.
You'll have to recheck the wiring. On very, very rare occasions we've seen a bad module....but you'll want to recheck all the connections first or you'll just have the same problem.
@@JoeSkeen No still not working correctly. Vts is on screen, still in limp mode with bucket all the way up. Can't control up or down and can't do the override to adjust either. Thinking about pulling the 3 wires out of the main harness and installing a sperate 3 pin deutsch connector.
Mike Mcsharry you have IBR if you have a trigger on the left handlebar also you will see the black cover plate on the back that covers your jet nozzle. Come on Yankees fan. Go Mets!!!
I do not have IBR or VTS. My plan is to install the IBR and the VTS. Just wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t run into factory issues as far as wiring goes. I wouldn’t think so since the IBR Is all manual function. Thoughts? 2016 3UP 90ho. Thank you
I was installing and put the green/white wire in the hole where the blue/white wire is supposed to go. How do I remove the green/white wire from the hole?
PWC Muscle I installed the vts but out of the water I tried it Vts up and went down under what is moving with the meter never moving my spark 2016 2up what is the problem
