DIY. I'm not a professional plumber but I installed my Water Softener Reheem 42K for 6 people which works perfectly. The house builder has already instalation plumbed. I tested water haednies before installation it was hard water between 125-250ppm and after installing whole house filtration and water softener it was soft water around 25ppm. I will be glad if this video helps someone. thank you

If you are lucky, the bypass manifold won't leak, during the installation. Mine did, to me that is a very poor design. I brought it back where I purchased it. Got a Waterboss softener. It doesn't have a "stupid' bypass manifold to be connected with clips. Hoping it seals, and doesn't leak. Part of the Waterboss unit.

Was your water softener installed before or after the water heater?

Hi, thank you for the great video. I have a quick question. At 6:25 in the video, shouldn't that drain have a p-trap with a tall stand pipe and maybe also an "air gap" to prevent sewage from getting into the drain line? Did you ever have water spill out of that short drain elbow? I'm doing research for installing a water softener and I keep on seeing conflicting information about the required configuration for the drain pipe, stand pipe and perhaps also an "air gap" device.

This house don't have pressue tank. But water softener should always be installed after (downstream of) a well pressure tank.

When you but the softener cleaner. You do it ever 4 months or so. Save your 3 recipients when buying this will add warranty if need by manufacturer. Save the card that scans info. Very important.
