We have a nice update on project Snow White, installing the LED's on the cluster makes such a nice difference, I tried to capture all the details for you to follow along.

Hey any idea what the stats are on the led's? Tried this 2day on mine and new ones didn't work, replaced the old ones an they working again ok, so jus assuming voltage or forward current could be different 🤔 the new ones I fitted were 3.2v, 30mA 🤷‍♂️ any help be gr8! 👍

Awesome video, thanks for taking the time! I have most of the mods and just have this one to do. Could you possibly say which led’s are white & which ones to do in red? Also if I wanted red needles which leds would you do? Many thanks, Amit

Hi mate, all the ones used in the video are just pure white, here is the link: ebay.us/Wc44Nc (updated the description to the video with it now too) You don't need the LED's to make the needles red, you just need a permanent marker pen and paint them red. Hope that helps clear it up mate.

@@mrgcc mainly looking at those door led's as mine are pure trash😂. Seen options where the whole led panel is replaced but wasn't sure how off the lengths of the door leds were on the f30 vs f32.

I see that you have to set the time and date... did you have problems with that? After removing the watch, it does not want to set the time and date either manually or automatically

i'm not 100% to be honest, I think there is a little part of it that must connect the 2 together. You might have dropped like a rubber part or something?

Did you use cool white or warm white led’s and the link for the bulbs would you say they are compatible for bmw f36 4 series grande coupe models?

Used cool white on it mate, and I think the F30 and F36 use very similar parts, so I would be shocked if the F36 is different for these bulbs

Yes, you can color the needles Red with paint, or with a red marker

Hi, i had changed the LED and there is a beep sound coming out constantly and it gets even louder when i dim down the LED. Lastly, the LEDs were ON even my headlights are off. Do you encounter this issue or know what went wrong on my end?

No we didnt encounter those issues. hmmm thats an interesting one.I have a feeling you have the polarities and stuff wrong and maybe connected something that shouldn't have been. I think for you it might be best to start again fresh and work from there, if you dont feel confident enough to get it right maybe find a professional?

Did you plug in the red connector at 17:40? I'm betting you left it out. It's a pain to plug in, I havent figured it out

Is it possible to Code the Display in the Cluster to stay always white? Because it is white at daytime and turns orange at night.

I dont believe there is, I think they are only white in the day due to the lights on them not being on? The LED's are all only to set to power on orange so I dont think there is an option on it to switch.

The OE LEDs are just orange. In the daytime you're seeing the white from the actual cluster not from a backlight. Hence why you have to change the LED's

My friend has done this for me but the fuel gauge and temperature gauge are brighter than the speedo and Rev counter. Any idea why this could be?

That's very weird, how are the solders? Everything pretty even?

@@mrgcc she soldered the LEDs but the 2 gauges were dimmer so she took the LEDs off and used a heat gun to put them back on in case the soldering cooked the LEDs. Still the same problem though.

Bro that just looks so good, im thinkin of doin the same but i have a question, did u clean the connections using any flux before mounting the new LED in its place or did you heat the old solder take it off and solder the new led straight on, also do u need to put solder on the connections or just on the side of the LEDS to make them stick. Any info would be great. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Hi mate, I wanted to do it with flux etc and when I do mine I will do it like that, when adding the LED I felt that adding solder once it was placed on the board and gently adding the solder worked easier. Less likely to move the LED out of place. Hope that helps mate

Climate control can be done with just software, no need to swap LEDs. Bimmercode is the easiest way.

@@Ewecnt Climate control can't be done via Software. You're on about retrofit screen, he's on about the buttons themselves. But yes they can be and we've done them

@@mrgcc hi thanks for getting back to me bro, yes I am using a soldering iron but for some reason it won’t lift. Any ideas why? I have ordered a new soldering iron and tips incase it’s that but my tip isint even gone yet. Ordered to see if it makes a difference. But thought I would try and get some advice and tips until it turns up tomorrow

It depends, is the current solder warming up/ melting when you put it on? Using a set of tweezers can help move it around too if it gets a little stubborn

@@mrgcc yes it’s warming up and melting and I’ve tried using the tweezer like u did in the video lol I don’t understand what’s going on with it. I’ll try again tomorrow and see if the new tip makes any difference. Thank you

Yeah maybe just try lifting 1 side up first then the other. Let me know how it goes as really that should work. Maybe the soldering iron isn't get hot enough? 🤔
