Thanks for the great instructional video. Worked without a hitch. I originally wanted to install it on an external usb HDD but had a lot of issues so I gave up that task. After following other's instructions with not much success, I found your video and found it was put together very pro and didn't jump around all over the screen adding to the confusion. Thanks again I will highly recommend others to follow.

just the installation ones ur in Win10 and the computer has restarted after installing BootCamp u can eject and remove it

Hey great video! I am getting stuck on the disk partitioning part though. The processing just stops there for an eternity it seem like! Have tried to verify and repair the HD Macintosh harddrive with Cmd + S etc, but it does nor seem to work! Using El Capitain as well. Do you know what might be the problem?

when I turn on bootcamp, it does not give me the step "Select task" to check the 3 boxes. It goes straight to create partition. I have a Macbook Air 13'' 128gb. Thanks.

Even to this day this seems to be a mystery. For me at Saving Windows support software it gets stuck at around. A window then comes up saying "Boot Camp assistant is trying to add a new helper tool. Type your password to allow this." Once I do it also says The installer disc could not be found." And it reverts to start. EDIT: This probably happens because I don't have the option "Create a Windows 7 or later version install disk". Or what do you think?

I´m using El Capitan, but when I open Bootcamp I don´t get the option to select the iso file, also I only see two options, Download the latest software from Apple and Install Windows 7. I don´t get a third option, then when I click Next, I don´t get the option to select the source of the Windows ISO installation.

When opening boot camp after clicking the first continue, my computer did not have the first option to create the bootable drive, but it did have the next two options (“Download the latest Windows support...” and “Install Windows 7 or later version”). Will that be a problem?

Heres the thing i download the iso then plug my usb into my imac, loaded up boot camp, left everything checked and clicked next but it doesn't not give me the option to location iso image like it does for u 4:45-5:40

i have this isse The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.

you dont need the usb stick, you have a newer mac so it creates it on the drive, just skip the step

This does not work if you have less than 50gb of space free on your internal boot drive. You immediately get an error from Bootcamp Assistant saying there isn't enough space.

Hi Emilio thanks for this helpful post. In following your instructions (MB Pro El Capitan) I do not get the option from Boot Camp to locate the ISO. After setting up the USB Boot Camp says 'Can't locate DVD'. Is there a work around this? My MB Pro does have a DVD drive - is that why it doesn't give the 'Locate ISO' option?

I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!! every time I load bootcamp and press continue, when i get to the second window i am not able to check the third option that is (install windows 7 or later version). So when i continue anyway despite not being able to check this option all it does is download and then say the windows support software is saved ad then it only gives me an option to quit out of the helper. I don't know why it is doing this cause I've done it before, but had to erase it and start again, and now it wont allow me to check the third option on the bootcamp helper. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I just wanna ask, why we need usb stick to boot windows 10? what is the preferred usb stick memory(should it be more than 8gb?)/ are we still gonna be able to use that usb stick for some purposes? for example I wanna put some files on it? Do I always gonna need to plug it in everytime I want to use Windows 10? My Other questions are: After doing this boot camp, can I install games on that Windows 10? Do I still need to transfer some of my files that I need to use from MacOS to WindowsOS? I only have 512gb memory on my macbook pro retina, what can you advice for me to maximize my space while using Windows 10? I'm just gonna use Windows 10 for some Windows experience and games, but I also need to have more spaces on it instead of just having small amount of memory through partition but I'm afraid it will lessen the memory of my MacOS. I've got an advice about the steam games that I'm gonna play, they prefer that I should buy HD to put all the steam games on it. But how about those applications like adobe products, some software that I want to install on Windows, can I do that and what can you advice? Thank you so much!

Hi, thanks for your comment. The USB stick is only for the installation. Once windows is installed, you can format the usb and use it for anything else. Regarding games and other applications, yes you can, it is windows...so anything that runs on windows will work. Regarding your space, winows and mac run seperatly, so when you are in windows you use all the memory available. Hope this helps

Would this still work today on an iMac mid 2010 using a USB memory? I upgraded to high Sierra to use more programs which totally F-D up my computer temperatures and I really want to downgrade back to El Capitan and install Windows instead so I can actually use my computer without worrying about overheating (upwards of 97 degrees Celsius!!). I don't dare use it anymore

For all those who haven errors. Go in recovery mode and restore partition. Then down load the 4gb version of windows and install it with boot camp. It works 100%

I have a late 2015 5k iMac, I didnt have the option to select the 3 tasks when starting boot camp and I don't have any audio when I'm on Windows. I bought Windows 10 from Best Buy in the form of a USB flash drive and had that plugged in when doing the install but I don't have a spare 8gb or more flash drive laying around... Idk if that's what's triggering the no audio problem.. Everything else seems to work just fine.

+BURT REYNOLDS it needs to be in a format that Windows can read. Windows can't read Mac OS formats, only fat and ntfs.

Hi When I go into bootcamp i dont get the same options as you. When i click on continue it takes me straight to the partition screen. I bought a new 32GB USB stick, but at 5:46 it keeps loading until around half the bar and then it stops and says the USB stick doesn't have enough space... Then I got told to format it to ExFAT, which I did, but still doesn't work. I always erase the stick from 'Disk Utilities' to make sure it's empty. Do you know what to do :(?

boot camp goes straight to iso image file selection and skips all the tick boxes that should appear, when pasting the iso file, it says "Need 64-bit windows 8 or later iso file. Bootcamp only supports 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit windows 8 or later installation." meanwhile i uses 64-Bit windows8.1 file "Win8.1_English_x64.iso"

Download Boot Camp 5.1.5769 support.apple.com/kb/DL1837?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US usb for a memory stick that has been formatted as MS-DOS (Fat) Download the windows 10 iso format, burn it to dvd. Put your usb stick on your computer. Also burned dvd cd drive. Start Bootcamp mac from your computer. Install Windows 7 or a new windows version. Follow the instructions. You need to format the installation stage, bootcamp, partition. Then you can press install the button. Now windows 10 is installed on your computer. My MacBook Pro computer in early 2011. Program El Capitan. Well works windous 10

It never asked me for the USB like it did on your screen. I had a USB plugged in but it didn't seem to require it and it's working fine. Just to make sure it didn't use the USB I had in I checked the data on the USB that I had in and it was still completely empty. What happened? Is this going to be a problem for me? It seems to be running windows 10 perfectly fine but it never used the USB.

i tried installing Windows 8.1 but after opening bootcamp assistant and clicking on continue it does not show the three check boxes... I then decided to try with install anyway, after choosing the ISO image from the desktop, but at the restart on Windows it had me choose the language and then insert the license number which I don't have... any help or ideas to solve this??

At 7:11 I cannot select anything and click next. The Windows 10 option (like it appeared in the vide) does not appear for me. I downloaded the 64-bit ISO from the Microsoft website itself and have the product key.

When I reboot, I format the disk but I can't install windows : windows can't be installed on this drive

says that i need a version of windows 7 or later and other get stuck on copying windows files, im using a macbook pro early 2015 retina 13" and theres no option for the download options. pls someone help me out here ! whats happening ? is my ISO like corrupted or my usb is just useless (its 8gb with nothing in it at all)

What if I have the product key for Windows 10? Do I need to check off "create Windows 7?"

my mac froze while partitiioning then auto restart there is a message ''encounter some error'' I went to apple menu to check my storage and there is 30 gb space out of 120gb and I can't restored my storage to its former size please help

Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation. fixes?
