This is an exemplary instructional video: Specific. Clear. Descriptive. Explanatory. Helpful. Well paced. Excellent. I've built five desktop PCs over the years, but had no clue as to how to get to the battery of our church's Dell 5770. This video made it obvious and doable. Thank you. (BTW, for my "splodger" (or however it's spelled!) I used the edge of a standard issue butter knife. No issues. All is well.)
Man God Bless you dude. You give instructions the way I need them Precise matter of fact to the point No glitz You are amazing Another vid instructed to detach the battery from what you just revealed to be the "mother board" connector, rather than disconnect directly from the battery itself You're a blessing right now Thank you SO much for sharing what you know
I DID IT!!!! Thanks to you, I just successfully replaced my network adapter card, and I’m back online for only $29 and 10 minutes of work (not counting hours of troubleshooting). Genius!!! Thank you for posting this video right when I needed it!!!
many thanks for showing how to replace the battery, after watching your vid I managed to do it in 15 minutes, I'd watched another vid by a woman but she never mentioned removing the cd drive, glad you did, well done
God bless the little internet! Thanks for having this out there, you walked me right through it…. I watched the entire thing. Actually more than that, because I backed up and paused it a bunch.
Thank you so much! My 5770 wifi card just died; ordered a new one and then went looking for a how-to-install video, and found this, which pretty much shows me everything I need to know!! You're WONDERFUL!! Annoyingly, I just had to replace the monitor on this laptop three weeks ago. 😱😡
Thank you for the great clear, and simple directions........I still have a VCR that flashes 12:00 12:00 12:00 just to give you an idea of how techy I am....I think I can do this....Thanks again
Not quite the same model I have but helpful nonetheless. Why on earth is the battery integrated inside instead of being in a separate area for easy removal? Working on a Dell is like repairing a foreign car... Thanks for the video!
Hi, great video. One question: When replacing a standard battery is there any way to upgrade the battery by putting in a replacement with a higher capacity - any way to check if it would fit, and would it affect cooling - as I find my I5770 inspiron cooling fans run a lot? Many thanks!
I followed your instructions and installed the new battery...but the computer shows "no battery present" after I reassembled it. Could it be that it needs to charge more. I am certain I plugged it in. (BTW: It was really difficult to unplug the old one) Follow up: I took it back apart, and as you may expect, the battery was not plugged in all the way. This time I disconnected the the battery cable from the motherboard, plugged the connector securely in on the battery side , then back into the motherboard. Works great now.
1:50 where you need a very small screwdriver for the 3 small screws. my laptop is also inspiron 17 5767 but refurbished, I guess. those screws are not there. the screws on the sides are lacking and in the middle, where the middle screw should be, there is something i don't know what it is, as if it's sealed so that no one can open the laptop. do you have any ideas? when i try to separate the bottom plastic i see that it's still attached although there is no screw there. i can send you a pic. You think it’s because the laptop is refurbished? Repaired maybe? Or might that be because the laptop was a corporate one and they didn’t want anyone to open it?
Late to the party! I have a 5570 but the externals all look the same. But about the battery? I found a 3 cell replacement battery with “Dell” printed on it on Amazon for half the price of one straight from Dell. Do you have any advice about buying replacement batteries?
Could you Please make one on how do you replace the COMS battery on this same Model and if you have the time how to replace the BIOS Chip or and the Motherboard?
Great video - even technophobes can follow this, thanks a lot! The promised 'links in the description' (where to source a replacement battery and a spudger like yours) are not there unfortunately.
Thank you for putting this helpful video out there. I did manage to successfully replace the battery on my Inspiron 5770 but now it won't boot up - it says it can't find a bootable device. I've run the diagnostics test and so far it's fine. I've tried changing the boot sequence in BIOS but it just doesn't work anymore, so I'm not sure what to do. All and any advice much appreciated, thank you.
I will say that here you pull the battery from the battery instead of from the motherboard. Almost damaged my laptop doing that. Are you certain this is the same model? I will say that my laptop was refurbished so that may be why the connector was weaker on the board vs the battery side?
@@Crisfieldcomputers This is the replacement battery we just purchased and installed in our church's Dell 5770 laptop (replaced it with the help of this great video, of course).
