Gia - great information for all new parents. I wish my parents had this advice in 1967 when I was born. Luckily for me the great Superannuation system Australia started in the 1980s has served me well.
I see so many of these videos and I can’t understand why people don’t recommend investing for your kids through an investment bond like Aus Unity? You don’t pay tax on it as it’s taxed by the company, you can gift it to your child tax free at the age of 18-25 and you can literally pick within it what you want invest in such as Vanguard Shares. All you got to do is set it up for $1000 and invest a minimum of $100 a month. It’s literally better than all the options above.
Thanks for mentioning! I looked into investment bonds and a lot of them say they are tax-free after 10 years which is true, but you actually do pay tax within the bond at 30% and you don’t have the CGT discount. Something to look into more deeply! But it could also work for some people ☺️
