Exactly, I used to doubt the value of a financial advisor until my wife's company assigned her an investment adviser in 2020. Honestly, it’s been the best financial decision I’ve made. It helped tremendously; I went from barely making any profit to having a well-diversified portfolio that has grown significantly, with gains exceeding $850k.
She appears to be a true authority in her profession with over two decades of experience. I looked her up on the internet and skimmed through her site, very professional. already sent her an inquiry hoping for a response soon.
I must say that it's one of the most informative videos about mutual fund for beginners, covering every aspect in such a simplified manner . There is just one correction required - Short term Debt oriented MF is taxable at normal income tax rate (Short term upto 3 years) -Long term Debt Oriented MF is taxable at 20% with Indexation benefit( Long Term beyond 3yrs).

Hello sir, I want to correct you here 6:32 that 1 lakh is the exemption limit which means that even if your Long term gain is more than 1 lakh you will get an exemption of 1 lakh.

Just a correction, taxation on debt mutual funds is also of 2 types. 1. If you sell within 3 years, the gains are added to your income (as explained in the video) and then you are taxed as per your income tax slab. 2. If you sell after 3 years, the gains are taxed @ 20% with INDEXATION BENEFIT. Kindly make a note of the same. :)

Sir, just one correction here- Debt funds sold before 3 years are taxed per slab, however if sold after 3 years, it is treated as long term gain and taxed at 20% with indexation benefit.

Ankur, love your content and the idea to help people. I'd like to just check once about how the expenses are calculated. "99.9 is deployed to grow" is simplistic and mostly works for a quick explanation. However the actual expenses I believe is charged daily so effectively your expense increases as your NAV increases. Instead of 10 Paisa. You'll actually end up paying much more if your holding value increases (which is what we hope, right). So someone believing that apna kaam to 10 paise mein ho gaya, might be slightly off as their portfolio size increases.

Sir, when we go in search of mutual funds in apps like groww, we see options such as SIP/One-time and the period, so if we consider the period to be one year, after one year we get the money back but the plan is to invest for long term and the options we see is at most 5 years, little confused about that, could you please help me with that?
