📌NOTE: With regards to the interest computation, the formula I shared in the video IS NOT ACCURATE! The actual way interest is computed for Pag-IBIG MP2 is a bit more complicated, so I wasn't able to explain it in the video. I don't think Pag-IBIG reveals how they calculate their dividends, but you can find an example computation in the FAQ section of their website! I'll probably make a follow-up video for the computations, but for now, here's the link to the Pag-IBIG MP2 Page: www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/Membership_ModifiedPagIBIG2.html
Dividend computation for your earnings works like how bank computes your interest income. It’s based on ADB (average daily balance) x dividend rate for the year. Simple example if you made one time lumpsum of 10K on Jan 1, at 7% dividend rate, you’ll get dividend income of P700 for that year. Versus if you save P1,000 monthly or P12k for the year, you’ll get about P456 at 7% rate. Bigger interest for one time lumpsum vs gradual monthly. But saving is saving, the more you put in, the more the dividends. :)
Thanks for clearing this up! I haven't received any interest since I just opened an account, so I wasn't sure how the calculations worked 😅 And yep definitely agree. Saving is saving 😁
@@NicoleAlbaYT Interest p.a. are announced at the end of the year depending on the performance of Pag-Ibig. And from there, so do your dividends will reflect.
Still keep me thinking that our generations culture is diversified. But i guess it is also somewhat needed to balance out our society. I dunno, what do you think though?
Instead of waiting for the dividend rates to increase and do nothing, why not invest while waiting for it to increase. It's safe, it's passive, and it helps the economy
Yep that's one way to think about it! The loans help Filipinos afford their homes and get through the situation we're currently at. Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤
Seeing someone with the same age bracket and same mindset like this talking about financial things has been a really helpful for us, who is now currently lost and don't know what to do with our lives but the only thing we know is that we want our moeny to work for us, Thank you for your videos, it gave us such a big relief and knowledge about things that we want to take risk.
I am now in a stage where I need to take action, my parents now see me as an adult and seeing that I am already an adult and still using their money makes me ashamed, then keeps me pressured to do something.
I'm a little bit older than you. I'm 23 years old and working in BPO. You really inspire me a lot , despite of you still a student. You are very good at explaining things in a very simple way. I watched your videos and I learned a lot. Thanks.
I started my MP2 account last year. 1000 is deducted from my monthly salary aside from the 2100 as my regular PagIbig contribution (100 came from the company I'm working). It's a nice investment and a great way to save up money and prepare for your future (or when you retire from work).
What have I been doing with my life?! I'm 38. I got my first 100k when I reached 30. I never took time learning about investment, savings, & stuffs related to that. All those time wasted. Now, I see the financial light at the end of my blissful journey about just putting it in my bank & not earning anything.. thank you. Nicole.
Watching your videos made me realize my regret for not saving or trying to invest when I was still a student. I know it's not too late yet since I'm just in my mid 20's, but still, adulting hits me hard with all these bills to pay considering that you're only living through your monthly salary which makes it harder to save. I salute you for managing your finances well. You're truly an inspiration, not only to young individuals but also to us adults. Thank you! BTW I really enjoy your editing. You make learning finances more fun than it actually is. 😊
It was never taught in school even in college unless you have parents that are financially literate, you are lucky. Its never too late to learn and invest. Goodluck to us
I've been thinking about opening an MP2 after the pandemic finishes, but knowing now that it can be done online eliminates any reasons why not to open one yet~ you literally answered all the questions I've been asking while researching about MP2~ thank you thank you~
I'm surprised! you were my student before...way to go Nicole! 🙂👍 congrats on your YT channel and for being a content creator on a topic you like to discuss
Newly licensed physician here! I’m so lost with how I can develop my personal finance, I’m so thankful I found your channel! thank you for sharing your knowledge, I am learning A LOOOOT!
Really helpful! Been a pag ibig member for 10 plus years and I have never opened a savings account with them. Never taken out a loan with them too. I think it's time to maximise my membership. Through MP2 of course. Thanks for this video!
New subscriber here. Can you make a content about the kind of investments for 20s? like what should we start to prioritize or have? such as life insurance, pag-ibig, philheath etc. Thank you, Nicole.
Oooh sige this would be interesting to cover 👀 I'm not in the position to recommend investments, but maybe I can share my thoughts. Thanks for the recommendation 😁❤🍞
I hope my friends and family will invest here also. I'll share this with them 😊 I opened mine last year. Btw, your video has a dislike button na hahahaha But I won't click that because I like your videos 💖💖
Okay lang dislikes haha I know naman I can't please everyone 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching even though you already have an account! Hoping you still learned something hehe 😁❤🍞
Hi. I usually get bored with most of the financial videos but with your videos I never get tired nor bored. Nakakatuwa specially the facial expressions.. Encouraging din lalu na sa millennials. That's why I share your videos to my daughter and relative to motivate them.
As a breadwinner of the family, it's harder for me to save or invest my money because the top priority for me will always be my family's needs which is a lot for a family of 9 HAHAHA but I wanted to at least have a visual idea of where the money goes and if there's anything I can spend less on. So far your videos are the most informative, easy to understand, and very straightforward I can find on this platform. I am building my financial spreadsheet as I binge-watch your videos. Kudos!
If you cannot save a small PORTION of your income from your present income, how SURE you can SAVE when your income becomes BIG? Saving is a DISCIPLINE and MINDSET, it is an acquired SKILLS.
Wow appreciate this video. For someone your age, you are very mature in handling your finances and more than that you inspire older people (like me!) to do the same. Keep it up and continue doing what you do, helps a lot.. thanks!
This girl is very witty and Intelligent! I am watching most of your vids! I am a 29 years old Nurse learning from a 20 years old.. Good Job! Our country needs you! Thanks for sharingnyour knowldge! Go girl!
Hi. You know someone told me about this before like a year ago but I lost interest in pursuing it. Now as I watch your vlog I wish I pursued it at once. Thank you so much for this vlog I hope its not yet too late! 🤖
I wish I already know this process when I was on my first year college huhu I don't have any allowance to invest right now due to I'm attending online class but this video inspires me. Thank you Nicole!
Your RU-vid videos were the main driving factors for me to start thinking seriously about how I use my money. I've been having a lot of hard time managing finances recently but these pieces of advice helped me be back on track
At my age of 30 yrs old here i am watching a woman in her 20's haha bakit ngayon lang ako nagkainterest sa mga ganitong bagay kung kelan nasa 30's nako. Kaya guys hanggat bata maginvest you will never know what the future is. Ganito dapat pinapanood ng mga kabataan ngayon. More power to you.
I reckon, this is definitely one if not the video that convinced me to open an MP2 (together with the constant nudging of a cousin). Fast forward from January 2021 to August 2024 -- enjoying how my little monthly contributions grow! MP2 is lowkey but rewarding!
I am older , but you are more mature financially! 😄 it is good that I've found this, thank you, I've learned a lot! Keep posting more of this contents! 🍞
Thank you for this video! I watched this on April of 2022 and started an MP2 Account. Now I got XX,XXX. savings on my account. Thank youuuu very much Miss Nicole. ♥️
What are the requirements for students? And pls make a video on how to apply pag ibig for students, step by step. I always watch your videos with my 2 yt acc. Thank you.
The only requirement is that you are 18 years old at the time of application and that you can pay the monthly contribution of P100. She mentioned it in the video at 10:34 :) You just indicate unemployed in the occupational status section.
How will i know if my enrollment is successful? I stopped at the enrollment form. I searched what to do next and all i can search is that i have to fill it out and submit to the nearest office. Thank you for answering ☺️
Is this for MP2? What I did after opening my account online was to deposit to my MP2 account number through GCash! I didn't go to any pag-ibig office for the whole signup process 😁 Hope this helps!
Every time I feel driven towards my finance you let me think about you and the contents you've made for us, thnk you and more power. Stay healthy stay pretty.keep Makin substantial contents.🔥💗🧡
Wow new subscriber here I just saw you sa article, and immediately come up here and subscribed! I really send all your videos sa mga pamangkin ko para matuto sila from you. Kasi hirap na hirap ako to encourage them to learn to invest habang bata pa sila.
Thank you for this Nicole, I'm planning to open an MP2 account. I just started my mutual fund investment because I got inspired watching your videos. Looking forward for more videos.. 👍
I'm glad I saw your vid on my yt recommendations! I badly need this on my adulting 101, wanted to start a business but natatakot ako to take risks but I'll take it one step at a time. p.s gonna binge watch your vids! 💗
Hahaha Yown! NakakaPag- IbIg naman yung voice its loud and clear dahiil dyan MP2 member na ako. Thanks at napanood ko yung Videos mo and im enjoying to watch all yout vids..God Bless!❤
Hello, I have a question about the PAG-IBIG monthly contribution. does that mean that we still need to pay the regular 100php monthly contribution along with the 500php MP2 investment? Upon receiving our MP2 dividends, will PAG-IBIG notify us if the pay-out is already on our savings/checking account enrolled in any of Pag-IBIG Fund accredited banks or if the check for payout (for those who don't have Philippine bank account) is already for release? I hope you can clarify these things. I enjoy your content so much! Thank you
This is very helpful and ang galing mo mag explain. Di ka boring..Will be opening up an MP2 because Ive seen your video last year and I am watching it now. Should have opened an account last year. Was duped by a so-called savings program at work na may membership fee ng P5K, what a rip off!
Hi. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I also shared your video in the group of Pag-ibig MP2. And it helps a lot of people like me who are also a beginner.
@@melia3240 Good problem.. you start a small business with that investment kahit ganyan pa edad niyo.. then invest for a passive income pag legal age na kayo..
Hi Nicole, if you're into books, maybe you can also feature a book review or recomm books which help you in your self development journey, as well as your money philosophy.
Thank you! I didn't know that you can register as early as 18! I could've put some of my savings there before na. Just wondering, did you get like a physical ID or just the id number? Also, do you need SSS before applying?
Thanks for creating videos liken this. Kalimitan ng young Filipinos walang mentor.. and by this.. at least magkakaidea sila. Sana meron nang ganito nung younger years ko. Keep it up👌
Hello, i've watched your vids and I'm very thankful to encounter 'how to financing management' just before I reach adulting. (Btw we're of the same age) Same as you mahina ang loob ko sa trading (I've tried and it doesn't work for me). I'm thinking of ways to invest and to grow my money (from allowances lol since I don't buy much I only keep them so why not make it grow di ba) and your content is just the right way for me to start. Dati I only have one bank account ngayon tatlo na kakanood ko lmao bukod pa dyan ewallet ko haha I have also influenced my family so we can grow together much thanks to you
Omg awesome! Haha lakas pala ng influence ko na may tatlong bank account ka na 🤯 Super appreciate your support and I'm glad na madami kang natututunan sa channel. Thank you so much for your support! 😁❤🍞
Hi, thank you for this i've been a pag-IBIG MEMBER for 10 yrs already,..nakarinig na ako nitong MP2 pero i didn't mind not until today na napanood ko itong video mo, kagabi lang ako napadpad dito sa channel mo. Now that i learned something like this, for sure mag iinvest talaga ako dito sa MP2. Salamat and God bless sayo Nicole, 😇😇 stay safe.
Great info! On the "matching of the employer" part, I've increased my monthly contributions years prior but the employer counterpart remained pegged at P100.00. So, yeah free money, but not more than the P100.00/month employer counterpart thus far. Has any employer really actually matched more than the P100 monthly minimum? /curious
I've been investing sa MP2 since 2015 and will, hopefully, get the money early next year. Although, since I moved to a different company Q2 this year, I havent been able to pay since June. Just wondering if anyone here knows if I may still be able to get the money on time?
@@gensanjuan418 yes. Got my money naman. Kumita padin ako ng siguro 75K I think. 4k per month hulog ko nun. Masaya. Tapos nag-annual nako since early this year and should be able to claim by next year din. Yung kinita ko from 2021, inimbak ko mostly dito, plus monthly hulugan na 5k.
This is good! I've been saving in mp2 as well, monthly pero hndi nman kelangan every month dapat hulugan.. kung anu lang yung kaya ko at kung meron... Like for 1yr naka 9k savings ako, pero meron akong kinita na 400.66 pesos na dividend... - binabayaran ko siya through gcash.
Back after 4 years and just graduated from college and because of this video, I saved 100k in my MP2! Still can't believe a simple youtube video helped me get this far. It's a nice feeling to not be so worried about money to start my career (exams and trainings etc.) now that I'm officially unemployed and no allowance. Thank you so much for this! You changed my life
Hi! Is it ok to invest on mp2 bigger amount compared to expected contribution? E.g. In 5 years, 500 PhP monthly times 12 = 6000 x 5 is 30000 But you wanted to invest 30 000 above?
I'm 18 years old trying and starting to build and keep up ng finance game step by step and as someone with a quite not so friendly or close environment, I'm happy that we have this type of content that I can at least get a grasp on 'cause I barely have anyone to ask for advice about these topics.
So, does this mean I still need to pay for the minimum P100/month contribution for my regular account first before I can add my additional savings to my optional MP2 account?
New subscriber here and I'm really thankful that this was on my recommended list. Thank you for your videos!! Might binge watch haha. More power and stay safe!!
This is totally on point and I learned I lot because what I only knew about PAG-IBIG is housing loan. I didn't know that a student like me can be a PAG-IBIG member. And YT knew what I really need to know by suggesting your videos to me. So, thank you for sharing this and ready to invest and save more for my future. Good job.
Thank you so much for making this video. It was so educational. Tanong lang po, saang category ng voluntary member po ba kabilang ang studyante? Sana po masagot ninyo. Salamat po. God bless
Napakagaling at ganda mo sis mag vlog. First time ko u napanuod now. But eto me ngayon napawooow sau. Very straight mga videos mo walang keme keme. Keep it up .
