Awesome to see the PS3 scene is still strong enough to defeat 4.90 in under a week. As well as some less sketchy support for installing CFW on the highest firmwares with the trusty domains no longer offering bgtoolset.

Thanks a lot man, I recently screwed up my PS3 harddrive and had to jailbreak my PS3 for the first time from OFW... back in 2010 I could just install the CFW directly, so I wasn't really looking forward to this, knowing it would be complicated... thanks to your video however, it was a breeze :)
Thank you so much for this! I accepted the 4.90 fw update and didn't think much of it until I wanted to run a game file. Was able to follow your directions (I had to boot up in safe mode to find the cfw each time tho for my system) and got it installed on my PS3. Now to load NCAA14 Revamped!

Might be worth mentioning that I'm using Windows 10 and my firewall asked if I wanted to give access during the installation of XAMPP. After that I let it finish and it restarted my computer on its own. Never asked, just did it. Might be just me but I thought I'd mention it. Aside from that, thank you so much for this. Will update this once I'm done and it's working.

This tutorial was perfect. Very well explained and demonstrated. I live in the US currently, but I just got back from my parents house in the UK last weekend and brought my UK spec PS3 fat in my luggage to the US and wanted to play non-compatible games and thus, needed a jailbreak. This video successfully allowed me to jailbreak my CECHK03 PAL PS3 fat. Thank you!! (For those wondering, my 240v PS3 runs just fine on 110v here in the US with no modification - display also works just fine on an ancient Vizio 50" TV I am using at this time)
Finally a solution to jailbreak without depending on other people's online website. I never like when people keep sitting on their stuff and don't share it fully. It's the reason that half-working versions pop up that can brick your console or worse. The only good reason to not share hacks is if sharing would allow SONY to quickly patch it and make it impossible to jailbreak. I already have 2 jailbroken PS3, so I might not need this, but it's good to have just in case.
The Flash Dumper and Writer were set up this same way before, however yes they haven't been updated since the 4.85 days. Nice to see this updated again.
I haven't personally run into that, although I've seen people resolve it at times by wiping their HDD on their PC? Would be worth searching, don't just take my word for it.

For anyone not getting valid dumps, try a smaller (or maybe just a different) usb size. I did the whole process a dozen times before getting first try on a smaller stick.

So.. i managed it. 4.90 works amazing over 4.89. Btw, so you can make a connection between ur ps and pc, you have to be on the same network (wi-fi or lan box) otherwise, nothing will work! Please specify this in ur video.

Xampp is saying I’m missing files and no matter how I try to fix it it won’t work at first it said vcruntime140.dll not found then started saying api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll missing. I’m on windows 7
Hey man, I am trying to do this, but when it tries to download the patch file an error appears:"An error occurred during the download operation." and after it finishes checking it says "Patch operation aborted due to patch file hash mismatch!" and yes I tried rebooting the ps3 to clear the web browser's memory.
Thank you for this very nicely done tutorial, however, I just wanted to add that my system just wouldn't update to the HFW file and after trying different versions of USB drives, I finally guessed correctly that since the system was advising me to the new update availability, that it wouldn't update to any other firmware except the one it was expecting to install, namely 4.91. After the update to 4.91, all went smoothly. Thank you!

The only problem was the Flash Writer access on PS3 (it just wouldn't connect, even though I set everything up as shown in the video 😅), but in the end I managed to solve it and now I'm ready to enjoy my PS3. EDIT: in order to solve the problem, I opened the Flash Writer topic on PSX-Place, went down to the FAQs, and clicked on the link in the first question (the one about an alternative in case people didn't want to or - worse - couldn't host locally the exploit, which was just my case). Then I copied the link in the PS3 browser, pressed Start, clicked to enter the exact same page which I would have hosted on my computer, and continued the process. That's it!

Having issues with accessing the file hosted with apache. My IPv4 address is entered in my ps3 but I get an error (the page cannot be displayed. (80710101). The format I have entered matches the one in the video. I have double checked my IPv4 address in wifi settings, and it matches the one in command prompt. I have gone through the whole process multiple times with the same result. I do display an IPv6 address with numbers, and letters. I have tried that as well. The ports I have are 80, and 433. I have tried both ports. Thoughts?

check your firewall settings. your computer (or your software like an antivirus) might be blocking incoming traffic. add an exception for your PS3 or disable it temporarily
frankly a big thank you because I no longer used my console because because of the update I could no longer play or watch movies and thanks to you I managed to update
I pulled out my old fat PS3 since my Slim isn't compatible. After a couple hours, I finally hacked my PS3, all thanks to you! In terms of having tons of games, should I upgrade my HDD or use an external HDD? I still have my original 80GB HDD in there lol

I find it funny that the updates are mostly to update the AACS key but they don't mention that, not really a need to hide it since they have a page on their site about it.
Hi Mr. Mario. I like the detail you use to describe everything. I just got a Super slim PS3 and so I’m looking forward to trying to use PS3 HEN and getting a new experience. My only hope is that I’ll be able to play Rock Band deluxe games and use Multiman to deal with custom songs.

I just talked with someone who says they worked on the PS3 a lot and they said that you must install firmware from a USB drive that has 2GB or less total storage space. How big was your USB stick? Mine is 64GB. I’ll need to know before I can move on.
I use custom songs on Rocksmith :) I used to play Guitar Hero and RockBand, but since I got better at learning real guitar on Rocksmith (not by much, mind you), my skills on Guitar Hero have got super rusty 😂
No applicable update data was found. When doing the system update on PS3 It is a 32 GB thumbdrive. FAT32 formated like you did. Fat original PS3 with 4.90
I Have Another Issue, I Did Everything & Now Have A JailBroken PS3 (FAT) CEX. I Copied My BO2 Disc To My Internal Hard Drive, But Everytime I Try To Put A Non-Host Mod Menu On Their, It Will Show Up… Except It Will Not Load In Game Or Even Show Up, Even Though I have Done All The Steps Correctly. Any Solution You Would Suggest?
Oh wow, I was randomly curious and I have a used phat that hasn't been updated in years but was over 3.55 when I bought it, guess it's going to be running CFW once I get some new controllers. Thankfully I got a slim first shortly before the 3.55 exploits came out and that's been running CFW for most of its life lol.
I had an issue where the ps3 would recognize the usb but not the update file. After trying many different things I i removed the .PUP from the file and it appeared for my cecha01. But then later i hit a snag with installing evilnat and it kept saying the data was corrupt. Turned out to be my flash drive. Switched and it actually worked. So many hours troubleshooting, but now Im so happy lol.

Mr mario can you help me about. My ps3 superslim is not showimg display its red light will appear when i plug in power and when i pressbutton green light on and suddenly its goes black no display.
25:59 WHY do I not have the bin file? What went wrong? My USB was in the left slot so I set it to USB001 and everything has gone smoothly. I wish you had explain why it might not be there.
