How To Jig | Fast and Slow Jigging Tutorial

Unfortunately, at 74 with a bad back my small boat days are over, but I fished around the world and lived down the street from your waters in the Philippines where the fishing is similar to Australia and a blast. I switched to Slow Pitch jigging, and love it, mainly because it takes less energy than fast jigging. Had great results as you can see from my videos. I really enjoy watching you guys and the clear explanations .... thanks!

Thanks for posting, two tips if I may. One, the but section of your rod is too long--so you are WAY out there when fighting a fish, but if it is shorter, you can pull the rod to the chest and "short pump" instead of reaching WAY out in front of you, you are MUCH stronger starting the pump with the rod close to the body; TWO, just me now, but I always use a "left hand" reel, when I can find it, because as a RIGHT handed person, I am then pulling with my stronger arm, the right arm, cranking on the left. Especially when casting I see fellow right hand guys switching back and forth, all day, casting with their good, stronger right arm, then changing hands because they NOW must crank with the right hand, pull with the left. So much easier to have it on the same side.

I'll definitely apply these techniques. I haven't caught any fish on my jigging ventures yet.

I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
