I am currently a junior in college (HBCU) and I am very much interested in Greek life. I have watched so many videos on what to do properly and how to have everything organized and your video has explained it thoroughly! Every single point you made is spot on and it is time that I finally get my things in order. I have been interested in Greek life since I was a senior in high school as I have family members who are in the D9. The sorority I want to join had a line this spring, but I did not join as I knew I was not ready. After watching your video, I feel like I will be ready next time around! Thank you so much for the tips and I will most definitely come back and re-watch as many times as I need to!
@@Nayamirie Hey. I would say be watchful of emails and rush flyers that may contain information about the sorority you want to join. You could also attend on campus events that the sorority may host to express your interest, but also remain discreet.
I would say make sure you’re aware that it is a covenant and you will have to do a ritual in a dark room with a demonic alter. I’m not sure if everyone is into things like that so be aware.
Way too much to read. Let me keep it short and simple. LaLa Jenkins. RU-vid her. She denounced it along with thousands of others. You can't serve God and that. Now you have been warned, so you can't say you didn't know. No excuses.
You’re so cute Sister Greek! I love the energy from your video! Definitely valid points on joining a D9 org, especially the part about having paperwork together!! I started getting mine together months in advance because I was so scared I’d miss a basic requirement and didn’t want that kind of mistake to be why I wasn’t chosen! Blessings on everything you’re doing, and i too hope you get the best because you deserve it too! 💙, a 🐩
Thank you so much! I am really trying to help the young girls! I worked very hard to be a good interest and I just want them to set themselves up for success as well! I am so glad that you enjoyed the video💙💛🤍💖💚
Please tell people that in "doing your research", research, chapter suspensions, expulsions, hazing deaths for ALL greek letter organizations. Princess, don't just tell the good, let everyone know that things DO happen even though you're considered "Non hazing organizations" because the truth of the matter is....all of these suspensions etc., didn't happen because they didn't do anything abusive, they did and the lists are long. Only then people should you make a decision. It goes both ways.
At my school Joining a D9 is so secretive and it's definitely not like the white frats and sororities where they have a advertised rush week and it's clear what events that are happening , i find it so hard to join, You can express what you want to join, and barely can ask anyone any questions because then it'll give it away😕but hopefully next year will be different. Thank you for this video 💕
My name is Naima and I’m a sophomore in high school and I’ve been looking in to AKA so I was wondering if you don’t get accepted the first time in Alpha Kappa Alpha can you try again.
I have really bad anxiety when it comes to things like this simply because i have a fear of rejection, im just scared im not doing the right research ik the foundation the events but what else should i learn about my gpa isn’t that good but the sorority i want to join isn’t active right now so that’s fine they will be my senior year so i still have time, im grinding now to get a decent gpa. but im also really shy and only have one friend im just worried they may use it against me i know of a few people though which is okay but i dont know how to build a bond with them as i never really see them just online minus 2 who work with me sometime
Joining a sorority is not a popularity contest. I had one sister who cane in on my line and she had one friend. Once she joined, we became her friends. However, if you have a low GPA, I would focus on getting my grades up. you are at school to get a degree FIRST...everything else comes second. Get your grades up to a 3.0 and make sure you do an internship, every winter and summer break, so that when you graduate, you can get a good job. You can always do grad chapter ( after you graduate) after you have gotten your priorities together.
What is the difference between a Greek letter organization and a cult? What is the significance behind the letters? What is the meaning of the rituals? Are the signs associated with paganism?
I left college in 2009 at 20 years old and returned in the summer of 2021 at the age of 32. I was initiated as an undergrad Spring ‘23 at the age of 34. It is never too late to follow your dreams!
I’m currently still undergrad I took off from school to work for a couple years, I’m 26 is it too late to try and rush? Did you ever see older student successfully get in? Thank you for you vids btw it’s very helpful.
She doesn’t matter if you an undergrad attending a university and you have the credits, you can still rush. Just make sure you have a really good personal statement💕

I will say though, if you can, try to be involved in organizations on campus and go to all of the chapter’s events so you can get to know the members. By the time the Rush flyer went up, just about all of the members knew who I was or knew of me.
@@barbziegrace Yes! I love this!! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, only what you think!! Im so happy you went with your heart and decided to join!!
thank you so much for making this video this was sooo helpful I have a question about the application packets how do we know what to be in the application packets?
A prophet is the way and truth to life? Bro get some help. ALLAH the one and only god is the truth and us in orgs aren’t worshipping anything just because you were rejected doesn’t mean we worship false gods get real
If you dropped it with a “w” or withdraw, it will be fine. If you dropped it but you have a D or F, just make sure your overall GPA is up to par. We have all had hard classes before so you won’t be judged but you do need to meet the GPA requirement.
Hello I’m currently a senior and I’m graduating in spring. I have already went to a mandatory meeting for my university I just want to know if I do have enough time to go through the membership process?
How does online school work with joining a city chapter as an undergrad? My online school is not in the state I live in and has no sororities. I see we have city chapters near me. Can I still join? Or will I have to wait till grad school?
Hi. Yes, you can, but I would use more recent community service. You also cannot join until your second semester of freshman year, because you need college level GPA/grades on your transcript. You should use the first semester of freshman year to get your community service hours up!
What if you didn’t finish your senior year out, and took a break from school due to personal reasons, and i decide to go back to school for my bachelors degree will i still be able to join?
Should be okay, you just need to have been attended the university one semester prior to rush. But you can always ask the sorority graduate advisor on campus or call the corporate office to confirm.
If you were a Girl Scout from elementary school all the way from senior year of high school would that still count as volunteer work since i did like community service all through those years? (Iam a sophomore in college now )
To join grad chapter you must have a college degree from a 4 year university. So if you didn’t finish college, and you currently aren’t enrolled in college, you cannot join.
My sister, God loves you and wants you to serve only him. We are called to love God and serve only Him. We are called to help our communities because we are followers of Jesus only and not because of our organizations my sister. I am not trying to condemn this is out of love ❤️ May God bless you Exodus 20:3-5 “3 Do not have other gods besides me. 4 Do not make an idol for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth. 5 Do not bow in worship to them, and do not serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,” Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
I would save about $1600. I’m not sure how much the new person fees cost these days but personally I would just over save just to be sure I have enough.
I commented this on another one of your videos love, love your energy but this ain’t the way. Come to Christ: Sis, I promise I say this in love. This, is not of God. If you profess to be a believer in Christ Jesus, DO NOT PLEDGE. The reason why is because of the oaths you take when you go through the ceremony (probate) after being on line. The reason the D9 is called Greek is because there are Greek Gods operating behind these organizations, for the AKAs its Atlas. Greek gods, little “g”. I wanted to pledge so bad in high school and even wanted to go to an HBCU that didn’t even have my major just to pledge 😅. But God is faithful, he sent me all the way to Berklee College of Music in Boston so I could learn about the deception. Find sisters in Christ, not sorrors. This organization preaches sisterhood and community service, but sin and idolatry is always going to come with an appealing pretty bow wrapped on top… but it’s deception ladies! To some I may sound like a crazy Christian, but if you feel conviction after reading this there is a reason! Jesus is King sisters, be careful. No shade to the channel or its subscribers just some spiritual food for thought. I’ll be praying for you. Much love.
The information you have given is absolutely not true. I was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha when I was an undergraduate and your information is false. Where are you getting this from? It amazes me how outsiders have these unfounded myths about black Greeks or at least about AKA. I am a born again believer. I'm not active in the sorority, because in prioritizing my life I have chosen to serve others in a different manner and that is not to say that how black Greeks serve is not beneficial. It has its place. I have chosen to devote my life and time to my walk in the Lord. Do you really think there aren't any believers in these groups? Do you think the Holy Spirit doesn't have the power to led and guide them who are? If you think this it is absurd. Maybe the Lord needed to direct you in the way that he did, but please don't put down these organizations that you do not understand that have served the black community in countless ways over a hundred years.
@@princessmelissathank you I visited the website and attended a few events but starting the new year I’m planning on attending more events to really learn the chapter members
Wat is AKA, wat does it hav to do with college, why is it only women, this girl been waffling for 28 minutes (I’m from the uk and yes I’m only here cus dr umar keeps mentioning u lot)
Seems like classism and elitism.. sorry I will pass.. let me be the first to create A1.. African Fraternity of sista and brothers to liberate our mind and better educate our kids and uplift our people., than just to liberate just a few -- And I can never be a Greek... African yes but not a Greek
