HOW TO K SWAP YOUR EF PT1 : Engine removal 

I own a 1990 Honda Civic Si EF that's in great condition with 140k original miles on the stock D16 engine. I've owned the car for 5 years now. I bought it from my best friends family. It used to be his car, but he took his own life back in 2017. With that said, I've had it covered in the garage ever since purchasing it because I haven't had any extra money to throw at it. The only thing I've done with it so far is replace both axels, replace the breaks, change out the oil, replaced the spark plugs with a set of NGKs, and got a new K&N air filter for it. Aside from that, 100% stock! With that said, my friend that used to own the car had always dreamt of having a white EF hatch with a K20 swap. It was his plan to swap out the old D16 for a K20 motor. He just never got around to it before life hit him hard which ultimately lead to his suicide. I want to get the car built exactly as he had envisioned for this hatch! Only bad news, I'm quite literally clueless when it comes to working on cars! Doesn't mean I'm not down to learn, I totally am, but it's very difficult when I work 50-60 hours a week, have a 14 year old son to keep after, and a wife etc. I do have the money though! I'd really like to find someone who's got a ton of experience working on Hondas.. especially in regards to swaps, to help me get a K20 in this bad boy! I need to start meeting people in the Honda community and share my story with hopes that someone would be willing to step up and help me out with this build! I live in the Pacific Northwest in a small town of Nothern Idaho. I'm basically 30 minutes away from Spokane Washington. Bro the Milwaukee 1/2" high torque is a monster the best gun on the market i just got one myself i had the dewalt 1/2" and it did ok but nothing to the Milwaukee high torque

I got my Kobalt 1/2 impact driver 24v from Lowes for like $250 bucks. it's been amazing, axle nuts, harmonic balancers, wheel lugs. Maybe an earthquake from harbor freight on the budget.

So pumped for the upcoming content.

I use a DeWalt 1/2 impact battery pack gun with 700ft/lb peak torque. Best investment I've made as a backyard mechanic. I have a 3/8 impact to match and they use the same batteries. Both come with 5yrs guarantee that will be honored at any DeWalt store.

Looking forward to this series! Would you be able to go into detail on which harness you'll be using and what mods will be required? Btw, I have the harbor freight earthquake 1/2 electric impact and it is definitely one of the best investments I've ever made!

I recommend the 1/2" Ryobi impact wrench. It has 300 ft lbs. torque. Plus all the old and new Ryobi tools are compatible with the lithium ion batteries. I'd buy the tools used and get one big new li-ion battery to start.

All the people telling you to try all these cheap tools. For the work you do, you need the best. Milwaukee m18 fuel brushless 1/2” impact is a beast 1400 ft lbs. if you can’t get it off with that you need to use some dynamite lol
