How To Keep Chickens Out Of Your Flower Garden is a Homestead Hacks & Hens video showing how to keep those chickens from tearing up you flower bed. Rubber snakes and blowup Snakes work pretty good as well.
My chickens are kept in a coop where chickens belong! But my neighbors seem to think that it’s OK to free range theirs all over the neighborhood. After complaining that they are tearing up my flower beds with no response numerous times, I just let the dogs out! I’ve cried too many tears to care about a 2 dollar chicken that is meant for food! And I’ve spent way more on my landscaping too let chickens free range in my yard!
I am considering putting chicken wire on top of my bulbs and garden this year- my neighbors chickens 100% DESTROYED my flower beds- including all of my heirloom bulbs and tubers- I am beyond pissed!
Dave, Could use a proven method for keeping Foxes away. We let our chickens free range same as you. Lost 6 since last summer. When an attack occurs we keep our birds safe in their chicken run for about 2 weeks in case the fox doubles back several days later. It's a stop gap measure. Not 100% effective and we don't like cooping up the birds in their run. Thanks and looking forward to another beekeeping season.
Ugh, I'm having to watch videos like this BECAUSE of my neighbors chickens!! I have chickens, but they are in a coop! I have landscaping ALL around my home, trees ext... ALOT of plants.... and these stupid chickens are tearing EVERYTHING up! I won't even get a kitten BECAUSE they tear up flower beds... so I'm pretty aggravated. Just put new mulch out, and they've kicked it out into the yard... costing me alot of money and insane amount of time
Also I forgot to mention it was kind of funny when you were speaking on the whole new breed of chickens that aren't afraid of anything. I found that was really hilarious. I can believe that
