it's probably damaged. when my hair was long I didn't really style it and it was so damaged. I cut it short and now my curls are so much more defined and healthy

I just reactivate with running water through with my fingers it’s pretty humid here so that helps rehydrate and shape everything by the time I get outside 😁 curls are the easiest

Hope you look into DevaCurl's products more cause there is a lot of backlash on their products saying it has a lot of unhealthy items in it and people are trying to sue them for their hair loss and damage. You probably won't have that problem because you don't always use them, but still be careful.
