I’ve recently started playing rugby coming from playing soccer (football) and am used to keeping my toe down and ankle locked. Should my foot be more at an angle? Thanks for the great video!
@@gusgoyal299 Hey Gus, awesome to hear you're playing rugby! You'll obviously have a really good kicking base from playing football. Depending on what type of kick you're going for in rugby can change how you want your foot angle. But which ever angle you use then yes we want to lock the ankle so we are transferring our power efficiently into the ball.
thanks Luke, I am a jr coach at Marbella Rugby Club, and a world rugby level 1 coach aswell. I used to play full back, and I watched your video as I can still kick out of hand pretty well, but I am trying to teach the skill to some very talented under 14's. Its the small details that as kickers we do naturally and do not think about as it is like breathing. keeping the lead hand on the ball whilst dropping, it is a light bulb moment which I can not wait to include at the next session. Hi Luke, please could you please do a video on grubber kicks? I've seen them done with toes making contact with the ball, but also people using the side of their foot?
