Recently when the Christian village of MauLula was attacked and taken over by the Syrian rebels, the government forces were immediately send to that village for cleaning it from rebels.
Syria is fully secular and minorities never had any problem, Iran has granted separate areas for minorities. Mauritania, Maldives, Western Sahara, Somalia, Turkey, Comoros,Djibouti, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Malaysia and many more.

Partition would have never taken place if some peoples did not want to take important positions or the other in the new power structure. It was also not compulsory for all Muslims to go to Pakistan (it was left as a choice), otherwise a larger share of land was required to be given.
