In this video I show you how to knit the 2 color brioche stitch, this is a fun stitch, but may be a bit frustrating at first, just don't give up! You will be so pleased with yourself once you've mastered it. I try to explain this stitch in the easiest way I can, I want you to actually learn the stitch, not just read it.
Please if you haven't already subscribed to my channel, please do so now!
If you liked this video please give it a thumbs up!

Kudos to you! Thanks for the tips of what to look for at the end of rows. I don't know how many times I took them apart because it was so confusing especially for a beginner. I have finally able to knit at least 4 inches without making mistake.....thanks a lot!

Thank you so very much for this excellent video! I used this three years ago when I was first learning how to do brioche. It was the most helpful video that I watched. I am about to start a brioche project and my mind immediately went to you saying knit, purl, purl, knit. This time around watching it I picked up many more tips. I will watch it over and over again. Thank you so much for this short, VERY helpful video.

As a continental knitter who purls like a Norwegian, I had some difficulty following your tutorial. So, I went to other tutorials and got even more confused! Well, I came back to your tutorial and after several views I think I finally got the hang of 2 color brioche. I was surprised that many other tutorials didn't start at the set up row; but the just demonstrated the technique mid-project. That's why I think your tutorial is the best!

I agree with others that this is by far the best video for brioche. I have watched several videos, and even watched an online course and I just could not get it straight. You made it very simple so it was easily comprehended, and now I do believe I have it. One thing you did that others have not done, is used larger needles and yarn than you might ordinarily use, so it was easy to see what you were doing.

You are a really good teacher, you totally get how to make something clear; I think often those who know something forget what it’s like for those who don’t, and take things for granted, rush on when it just isn’t clear to a beginner. Despite your absolutely excellent instructions I found myself having to recast-on about six times after making mistakes in the second or third rows and being hopelessly incapable of un-knitting…much easier to start again! And my learner woes are added to because I knit Portuguese style (totally recommended!!!), which entails an added level of complication in the learning process. But I’ve finally managed to keep going and keep on track. I think one of the hard things with this stitch is that ‘reading’ your work actually makes it worse when you are first learning, and the first few rows, as is often the case in many stitches, look completely wrong and awful until you’ve had the courage to struggle on for a few more. Then it all starts to make sense and look like it should and you feel this overwhelming sense of achievement!! Thank you so much for making clear what was a total fog to me when I watched other classes. I’m so glad to have found your videos.

You covered what most tutorials neglect: how to "read" your stitches! It's not enough to know the mechanics of a complicated stitch; you have to know how to troubleshoot, too! Thank you! I can't wait to try some of the fabulous brioche projects on Ravelry!

Hi from France! Thank-you so much for this tutorial. I learned the brioche stitch a few years ago but in a different way (row 1, knit all stitches, then it's a one row repeat : knit 1, knit the stitch below ,end each row by knitting the last 2 stitches). Then I watched your tutorial about the brioche stitch and now I can manage both ways.😊 Now, I'm gonna try the 2 color brioche stitch. Thank-you very much. You sound so enthusiastic and that helps a lot. 👍👍

Great explanation I have ever watched you made sense. Thank you. Could you do a KAL in the future. Maybe Rebel two by Lesley Ann Robinson Or “ Pointe “ by Julie Dubreux. They may supply the pattern free to you. Just having trouble with both of then. This video has helped me a lot with brioche. I probably need to take in your excellent points and tackle one line at a time. Thanks you keep you excellent tutorials up. I am thinking general knitting is looking boring compared to Brioche. I just want to master it. By the way I have knitted for 50 years since a youngster and very confident in any stitch. Why don’t I just get brioche ? I will just keep going.

I've been looking for the fundamental rules of brioche knitting, and you've stated them perfectly :) (1) the slipped stitch on its own is always in the colour you've just knitted, and (2) the first two stitches of each row tell you whether it's a knit or a purl row.
