Hello! Thank you for sharing this stunning poncho pattern! I am a beginning knitter, so I have a question. When I view the video, it looks to me like when you are doing the double, triple and quadruple loops, you are actually purling, whereas the description says you're knitting, and you also seem to be knitting the rest of the same row. Am I seeing this correctly? Confused... I would really appreciate your response - I am very excited to start this project!
+Emily Brys Hi Emily Brys, Yes, you are viewing the video correctly. I'm purling the 6th row, please read the written instruction interunet.com/knit-a-poncho (step 2). Happy knitting!
Hi.I am from India. The poncho is very beautiful.I want to knitt for my niece.her size is xxl.At first how many stitches will i take? The yarn is 4ply .pls help me
Hi Mou Majumder, For a bigger size you may make each rectangle wider. You may cast on about 122 sts or as wide as necessary interunet.com/knit-a-poncho. Happy knitting!
hello, I would like to learn right from the starting point of this poncho..please if you can show the video of how to exactly start knitting this. thanks
praise Crist Hi praise Crist, For more details and info about the poncho knitting project, please visit interunet.com/knit-a-poncho. If you are a beginner and do not know how to cast on, I can make a separate video to help you out. Happy knitting!
Hi, First thanks for this nice project I'd like to knit this pancho but i want it longer ( covers much of the arms and the hip ), my question is shall i sew for same distance as yours ( 7 repeats ) or not? because the number of stitches will be more than the recommended (98 Sts) Thanks in Advance
Amani Amani Hi Amani Amani, Thanks for the good question. If the number of stitches will be more than 98 sts, then you need to sew more than 7 repeats. It depends on your head circumference and gauge/tension, but not the length of the poncho. I would advise you to secure the garment with safety pins, try it on and then made your final decision. Happy knitting!
Thanks a lot dear for your advice! I have one suggestion: could you please show us how to make the edging of triangular shawl because when finishing crocheting one shawl, the resuIt was unpleasant cause I didn't know how to make the edging! Thanks in advance
Amani Amani Hi Amani Amani, There are two ways to do the edges, such as to use knitting needles (step 6 - interunet.com/knit-a-poncho) or crochet hook and work single crochet. Happy knitting!
Hi Anu Chawla, The length of the front part should be the same as the length of the back part. It is necessary to knit two the same rectangles for the shawl. Happy knitting!
