Thank you!! 😊 The gauge for this pattern is 15 STS x 22 rows = 4”x4”. The circumference is approximately 21”, so I would add an extra inch or so for a man’s beanie. If your gauge is close to the pattern, then I would say casting on an extra 4 stitches should work well. This will change up your decreases a bit though. I hope this is helpful!
I'm making my first double brim hat after watching your video and have a question. If I make the hat using 80 stitches, will I finish the decrease rows the same way ?
Yay! Congrats on your first double brim beanie!! 😊👏🏻 The decreases would be slightly different if you used 80 stitches. If you didn’t want to adjust the decreases, but still wanted the hat a little larger, you could use a slightly thicker yarn…or go up a little in needle size.
@@yokieBcrochet-knit I'm not exactly sure how you mean the decreases would be slightly different. How would I adjust ? Right now I'm using #4 weight Joann Big Twist Value yarn. 5.0 mm circular needle and the stitch count is 18sts and 24 rows equals 4" . THank you.
@user-fr7nh6rm9b I’m sorry, I was wrong about the decreases being different. They should work out the same except you will have a few more stitches when you get to the last decrease round (K2TOG around). Depending on your tension, it looks like Big Twist is slightly thinner yarn than what I used (or, it could be the difference in needle size. I used 5.5mm). Adding the extra stitches should definitely help with that! You are also welcome to email me if you have any more questions. 😊
Hi hun I’m a little confused you said it was all knit stitch but it looks like stockinette stitch, isn’t that 1 row knit 1 row pearl to make that 🙂 help please I really want to make this and hopefully but stuff it up 🤞🏼
Hi there! Yes, it’s all knit and no purls because you are working in the round. If you were working this flat, then you would knit the right side and purl the wrong side, but this beanie is just knit. It will still create the purl side, but with only knitting. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! 😊
@@yokieBcrochet-knit thank you for getting back to me so quickly ❤️ this makes sense iv a new knitter and I haven’t knitted in the round only flat I hadn’t thought about the fact that you just knit continually and not back and fourth and how that would look if I do just one colour would I still need the stitch marker ? Thank you
@lorettatippett6170 yay!! I hope you are enjoying knitting! 🤗 Yes, I would still recommend the stitch marker because it will help you keep your place for the beginning of each round. 🧶
Yes, you definitely could! 😊 You may just have to adjust the length slightly if you don’t want it super slouchy. The end will most likely curl up a bit if you leave it a cast on edge, but it should be ok once you put it on. You could also add a different ribbing if you wanted to! 🧶
help please! i followed all the instructions (i think anyway lol 😆) but the outside of my hat is the opposite to what it looks like in the video? so instead of knit stitches it looks like seed? will i have to start again or can i continue??
Oh no! I’m sorry! Can you email me a pic of what your beanie looks like so far, and I will try to help! 😊 My email is in my bio on my channel page. Thanks!
@@yokieBcrochet-knit nevermind lol!! i just did a few more rows and its making sense now! 😅😅 thank you for answering my cry for help tho im super excited to finish my hat
@courageousmango yay!! I’m so glad!! 🤗 of course! I definitely want you to have a beanie you love when you’re done! Feel free to email if you have any more questions! 😊🧶
