Thank you for this video. I have searched for an explanation of magic loop knitting that explains why mine isn’t working. Your clear detailed explanation solved all my problems! I’m using this pattern and video to start over on my sock.
Thank you so much for sharing this pattern and for the sock-a-long. I have been wanting to make socks for a while now but have been a bit intimidated by the whole process, especially the heel part, I am now going to try making some. Again, thank you SO much :)
My pleasure! I am so glad I can help to make things less intimidating. I'm really curious how you'll find the heel, this is my favourite one and I find it easier to memorize than other heels. Take it step by step, put it down when you need to. You got this!
What an incredible Tutorial. everything you possible need to ask or could happen is explained so, so well and shown perfectly how to do it. Thank you so much :-)
Thank you so much for this tutorial, both the video and the written instructions were detailed enough for me (a beginner) to follow. And I love that you haven't added a lot of complicated steps to make it look fancy 🥰
I love the video! You explain everything so well and slowly. It makes it very easy to see what I’m supposed to do. I’ve become a little obsessed with making socks now! I’m not sure where to find the written pattern though. I thought it might be helpful. Thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us!

Thank you so much for this. I just completed my first sock with this tutorial. Major accomplishment, the last time I tried DPNs was about 15 years ago lol
I would love tp make this for my toddler, but can't figure out what amount of stitches to begin with. Also, this is the first time I ever succeeded in knitting socks. You are such a good teacher
It depends on how tight or loose you knit, and on the shape of your leg. They stay up really well when worn over tights, and when worn under jeans. I rarely wear handknit socks on bare legs except inside the house sometimes, and then I don't mind them slouching a bit.
Did you switch from English knitting to Continental knitting throughout this video? Apart from that I found it very helpful, especially the heel. Thank you
Hi there! I might have, I usually knit continental style myself but try to show English style in videos and most people find that to be the easiest to understand. Sorry if it was confusing! Glad it was still helpful :)
I'm so glad you figured it out! You can still do the continental purl your way (as it's quite finicky to wrap around the "right" way), and knit through the back loop on the knit side. It's called combined knitting and it's a favourite style for many knitters!
What confuses me is that the toe appears to be knitted on the back needle then suddenly for the foot it all switches to he front needle. How do you do that? I’ve watched so many videos but none show that change.
This is a great question! For the first few rows after the cast on, you are looking at the toe in 2D basically - it seems flat. You are looking at it from "underneath" the toe, if that makes sense. When you get a couple more rows in, it becomes a more 3D shape - almost like a bowl or something, and it seems like suddenly we aren't looking at the "bottom" of the toe anymore, but looking at the front instead. There's actually no change in how you knit and what needle you use, but I totally understand what you mean!
