MATERIALS
• Knitting Needles Size 7US
• Aran or Worsted Weighted Yarn
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle
I was inspired to create my Yoga Socks from the free Lion Brand pattern, ‘Stirrup Socks’ available here: www.lionbrand.com/patterns/706...
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Cast On (36 Sts Small, 38 Sts Medium, 40 Sts Large, or 42 Sts XL)
Rows 1 - 6: Knit 1x1 Rib Stitch *K1, P1 *
Rows 7 - 16: Knit in Stockinette Pattern (Knit Right Side, Purl Wrong Side)
Row 17: Bind Off ½ of the stitches on your needle, then Knit the remaining stitches
Row 18: Purl all stitches on your needle, then Cast On those stitches using the Cable Cast On Method to place the same number of stitches you originally cast on.
Rows 19 - 46 (or longer, if desired): Knit in Stockinette Pattern (Knit Right Side, Purl Wrong Side)
Rows 47 - 53 (last 6 rows): Knit 1x1 Rib Stitch *K1, P1 *
Bind Off
Seam up the edge
Make Two and you are DONE! Namaste!

I've made 3 pairs of these all with pretty much ease (cable cast on was a bit rough at first) but now I have 3 projects sitting unfinished because the sewing part at the end I have no idea how to do. I had a friend help me figure it out but we had to redo it because the part along the heel hole was confusing to figure out and we did it wrong. For a newbie at knitting, a more detailed video would have helped someone like me who loves to knit but isn't that great at it. Love the pattern and hope one day to be able to wear the ones I made for myself.

I was curious why you didn't knit them in the round. Was it easier with the stitches you bound off in the middle of the piece to knit flat? I love this idea. They'd make good boot socks. It's my understanding that not everyone likes wearing socks with boots because of the sock bunching up inside the boot. I can't imagine not wearing socks with boots, but everyone has their own way. :)

Hi Jeannine!! I like demonstrating patterns that everyone can embrace, which means veering away from in the round. These totally can be knit as such, with some modifications. I like wearing tights under my boots!!

+Studio Knit That's so sweet!!! I know as a newbie, knitting in the round terrified me. These days I'd be hard pressed to knit flat and have to seam a piece together. I've discovered I a much better knitter than seamer. lol, my seams look terrible! hehehe
