When I bought my LK150, the sales woman demonstrated knitting double-faced fabrics like you did, and every now and then she switched the yarn (1 to 2 and 2 to 1, vice versa), so that she could switch the 'main' color at the right side of the fabric. I loved the effect - I forgot about it but your tutorial made me remember. I'm going to give your socks a try :-D
@@craftylady3129 the knitting’s mindful compared to some of these comments where people have to have powers of telekinesis to communicate with each other; on view it looks like cerebral narcissism, but in mind it feels like the hills have eyes, harbouring inbreds & pedofiles, since there has to be a cause to be covert.
Love how your socks turned out! Definitely going to use your pattern generator with my SK303. Have you thought about making a pattern generator for fingerless mitts?
Roles for women in modern societies, ‘always putting themselves in abject danger’, always having ‘done it to themselves for money’; but jobs and support are hard to come by?
@@JPG117 I don’t think I did actually, to be honest; I’m not sure what I was responding to there, most probably something I was watching during the clip.
@@JPG117 maybe there were some other comments which got deleted I was replying to; maybe it was only the fact I got a cat bite this morning on my pointer finger after trying to brush my cats teeth and the fingerless mitts made me think of putting chain mail gloves on
Perhaps you said this and I missed it, but to mirror the second sock the short rows for both heel and toe must be done on the left side of the bed. Then both socks will have their seams on the outside of the foot. 👍🤗🧶🪡🧦
Thanks. I love hand knitting socks and tried to knit them with my LK 150. I used one strand and the tension was too loose and the stitches dropped so much like you had happen. After I made worsted slippers successfully and the one strand sock, I quit and went to sweaters on the machine and back to hand knitting socks. I'll have to try 2 strands next on the machine.
Great demo! Was wondering if you'd make a tutorial for a reusable cast-on placket. What are these things called? I know some circular sock knitting machines come with one, or tell you how to make one. I recently saw EngineeringKnits use such a cast-on placket and very smooth scrap yarn and she did not have to cut anything, or much at all.
I made my cast on rags following a tutorial by buttonmouse the wee machine knitter on you tube, she takes you through all the stages of making a cast on rag.
Regia and Opal superwash yarns can both be thrown in the wash on any regular cycles. Also, I'm familiar with Brother 4.5mm standard gauge so I don't know if this applies to the LK150 but Regia and Opal make a DK yarn that might fit better in a mid gauge machine.
Hello. I have a question regarding the side of the toe. Why do you recommend to create the toe on the same side as the heel? I think, if the toe is shaped on the upperside the seam will be on the bottom. Messy seams or color changes will be hidden that way.
