Actor/singer here!!! Confidence is useful, but it’s certainly not everything! If you want to be a performer, work on building confidence in yourself & your skills. If you can be secure & feel good about yourself as a performer, you have all the confidence you need. Like, I have diagnosed anxiety & was bullied 1st-12th grade, so I’m absolutely not the most confident person, but I learned to draw confidence from within, and now when I get onstage (or even go out in public), I don’t really worry about what I’m doing or how well; I focus on the fun I’m having & joy I feel about doing what I love to do! So, long story short, there’s no reason to let fear hold you back. Focus on your talents & passions and get them to the level you can be proud of. Then, just have fun with your incredible gifts!

You’re never gonna act just face it, if you were truly dedicated to it you would have been in multiple films by now, yet you are watching videos in hopes of thinking you “fit” the qualities of a good actor. im only 14 and taking lessons and just let people do it. And we didnt say "just crying on command" we said our emotions so reread it. and just bc someone let u down doesnt mean u have to let other people down
@@OwenJr-bc5wh oh my. Just because I can cry on command doesn't mean I don't have any other qualities that make me a good actor. I have auditioned for multiple plays near me and got into them, I preformed my play three days in a row all day. Acting is my passion, it's what brings me joy. You don't know everyone's story inside and out. I made that comment a while ago. After my play was done multiple people came up to me saying I was born to act. I recommend that you shouldn't hate on people you don't even know, you don't know my whole story, you don't know how I've wanted to be an actor since I was a small child. Just because I'm not in the mainstream movies doesn't mean anything. Plus I live in a place that doesn't have a lot of casting calls and it's hard to find them. I got sent to the consular at school because for “talent day” at class, I did acting. The scene was someone finally found their child who has been missing for a decade(my bff was the kid). I played it so well I actually cried. The teacher was concerned and made me go to her office.
Bro I am on my way to be an actor and all of these apply. Massive confidence boost as well as carrying a whole performance with my acting and made my dad so proud he cried
I'm all of them except the fourth one I have never liked a great deal of attention because the majority of people while I was growing up would always laugh and stare at me so now when people stare at me it's like a triggering experience that just makes me quiet and want to stray away from attention
All but number 4. Even when I've done it plenty of times through singing, the nervousness is still there. All the reason I'm more into trying to voice act while also planning to be an author
1: for one I want to be a actor because I saw a fantastic movie called Birdman and Keatons performance really inspired me. Another reason is that I love to watch movies I will always watch a movie every day of my life. 2: one of my biggest goals in my life is to win an Oscar because then people won’t forget me and I would be forever remembered and engraved into hollywood history.
I wanted to be a singer and actress. Was so passionate about it. Started since I was four. But after I failed an audition and continued to fail. I no longer love being on stage and I hate the spotlight. It just makes me remember my failure. To those in the comment section who can still get back on stage without being afraid after failure I respect you
another one: your able to cry easily/ on command. directors and behind the scenes people have help if you can’t cry automatically but it is a good skill for acting/theatre!
I can relate to all but the last one. I like it when things are perfect, but I wouldn't say I'm a perfectionist, because I don't mind when things aren't perfect, and I never really try to make things perfect very often
I've been questioning myself my entire life if I was a good actress but now I realize that I am, and my dream to become a Hollywood star is becoming bigger and bigger, even though I am far from US, I am African. But I will never give up on my dream.
Dude all of this applies to me! The only exceptions are the fact that I'm more verbally emotional (like online) than physically and I'm more of a cinematic perfectionist rather than just in general a perfectionist

I never tell anyone I want to be an actor because if feel like it makes someone seem childish and naive. There are always kids who are like oh I want to be and actress I want to be a singer. But the thing is your probably not going to become successful in it. If I said I wanted to be an actress someone would probably point out the fact that I am a sports and not theater person. I want to be an actress because I want to look at the finished product and think, “woah! That’s me!” I think that is part of the reason I love obsessing over tv shows and movies. Because I want to be that. I want to make someone else feel the way I do when I watch them.

I want to become an actor soo damn bad, and ik it’s cliche but I really just want to inspire people and I want them to look at me and say the same things I said when I looked at my favorite actors when I was younger. My mom and dad are most definitely not supportive of thsi, though (not even as a hobby) so I’m not sure how I’ll manage but I’m gonna keep trying, even if it’s just practicing in my room or watching movies to pick up on how tv acting looks like. ❤❤
The most important thing is forgotten here. I learned that from a professional actres in my country. I had lessons from here and she always Said: you can have so much things that match someone that can become a great actor but if you miss talent you wont get their. You can train to become better but you need talent . I learned that. I had a lot of people that Just dont understand it . They try and try and learn and learn but they still keep acting . Acting is not about trying to act like your charcter. Its about feeling your characters emotions, you have to become him. And not everyone can learn that well enough

I have all of these traits and I have always dreamed of becoming an actor for action movies and tv shows and I know it is going to be hard but there's only one problem with one of the traits is that I have stage fright... So I'm excited to see how my career ends up!
With regards to the 3rd trait I’m not sure that watching tons of movies necessarily means that you have the skills/knowledge to be an “actor”! It just means you find movies entertaining!

I dont get stage fright. Do u know that bubbly sensation in ur tummy like u have butterflies and u need to go to the toilet? That means ur nervous. I dont really get that but im also nervous.
