Jesus must be asked if we are consoling Him and pleasing Him. That is our best guide if we have a holy spiritual life. Our spiritual life is not a self standing object to be refined or optimized but is the pre-eminent relationship to be made more intimate and identified with our highest beloved, the Most Holy Trinity.
