What would you suggest if you don't some physical way of delineating one bay from another, an example being cantilever racking that runs the entire length of the aisle? We stock many different end sections and lengths of timber and regularly change up our racking locations depending on demand.
I like your label style. How can I create same style labels, is there any label printing machine, or you just buy printed label and register with your WMS?
WOW! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! i have to do a project for my job and this video helped me a lot. It's easy to understand and wonderful material to download to have it on file since I learn with pictures. Thank you again.
Thanks for the clarification, what I was looking for. What I would love to see is the order of how labels should be placed to guide the picker through the rows based off the WMS sorting, so the picker is not back tracking. For example, if I have 4 bays in each row, and I have 4 rows. Row 1&2 and 3&4 are back to back. They would be called Bay, 01, 02, 03, 04 for row 1, then once I am at the end of row 1 at bay 4, my WMS is going to sort, should I then label row 2 bay 04, 03, 02, 01? or should I label row 2, bay 05, 06, 07, 08? Then start row 3 bay 01, 02, 03, 04 and row 4 bays 05, 06, 07, 08?
instead of row you should label aisle and introduce left and right positions for pick path optimization. and within an aisle you clearly label sides with small flags that attach to the racking. this is all manual but large clients can use the virtual warehouse to guide employees (smart glasses)
Hi Delroy, Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. I don't have this currently. If I get an editable template at some point from a customer, I'll send it to you.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful and educational video. It is so nicely explained and assisting me to label my warehouse. I, however, had a question regarding bins. In my warehouse setting, my bin is one big area in a bay per level. Can I name the bin A for instance on level 1, then the same area B on level 2 etc. Then in bay 2, again A for level 1 and B for level 2 etc. Please guide me. From Nairobi, Kenya
Hello. I would love to learn about your business and see how we can help you. Could you please let me know your availability to jump on a call or do a FaceTime?
Hi! We manage a similar way of labeling our bins. We have an issue with open bins, we are retailer and we have like 12000 different products and our costumers purchase only a few of the box, leaving an open box or bin... The issue we are having is to identify these opened bins easily. Do you have any thoughts on how I could tide up my system?
Hi how can I accurately count my physical product on hand it always took me a long time to count 3 times to make sure it is correct and sometimes it is up or less when you recount specially small items with lots of quantity. Im new in the field and first audit I had is a complete mess up audit the quickbooks and my product on hand are not sharing the same numbers that I have Im exhausted counting the same stuff for 2 weeks straight just to lower the loss
In whatever software you are doing, you should be able to put additional product in a second bin by scanning the product and scanning the bin. The software should be agnostic to what bin the product goes into. It should just track it.
@@Laceupsolutions I mean, can I put one type of product more then 2 bins, and if I need that product, how software works? Which bin does it show to me?
@@bahodirrajabov7964 Great question. It will show that the product is distributed in two bins. If the two bins are picking bins, it will display that you can pick from either. If one bin is picking and the other is overstock, you will pick from the picking bin and later transfer down from the overstock. Thanks for your amazing question
Lets say i have 2 sections of the warehouse, section A and B, would i name my aisle rows 01, 02, 03 in section A and then do the same in section B as 01, 02, 03 or would section B aisles be 04, 05, 06
Hello. You can do either or. It really depends how your warehouse flows. If the two sections are right next to one another, I would increment the rows. If they are two completely different sections, I would start at 1.
We use many methods of storing items. Sometimes we put various items in a cardboard box and other times plastic boxes and we may move boxes. How can I identify each individual card board box?
Great question and I apologize about the delay. The only way to do this is to register each of these boxes as a bin location, adhere a label to each one, and track them within your warehouse with a WMS. Manually, you would have to assign an ID to each box, adhere the ID to the box, and manually document the whereabouts of the box. This is difficult. I would invest in a cost-effective system that can do this for you.
@@rekhabisht4638 We are using a pattern that is familiar to everyone, similar to the system used by post offices around the world. We name aisles by letters, with odd numbers on one side and even numbers on the opposite side. This is a system people are naturally accustomed to, so why complicate it? :)
Any way you can post a tutorial on HOW to make bin locations like that? I saw on a previous comment it was photoshop, but I would love a quick step by step! Thanks.
@@Laceupsolutions I would like to create my own location with the template you sent. Any recommendation how will I go about doing that? Thanks an advance!!
@@husseinkhidir5010 Hoep you've been great. No I don't. Those we created here internally through photoshop. You could either do it like we did, or reach out to a professional labeling company like label match.
